Diamante Reitabenteuer: Paradiesritt mit Meerblick

This is our first time visit Costa Rica - what a beautiful country and beautiful, friendly, polite people! We are still here in Costa Rica in October ... the rainy season! No joke - and we are from Vancouver where it rains a lot! We were looking for a tour to do, and decided on Diamante - even though it was risky with the rain. We are so glad we went - the rain held off long enough for us to go horseback riding. I guess the rain had discouraged others from taking a ride because it was just my husband and I while everybody else decided to go zip-lining. We made the right choice with a leisurely trail ride - at one point ending up on the beach for photos. Lots of birds and different scenery, and the howler monkeys in the background letting us know they were around. After a lovely ride, we visited the butterfly sanctuary, jaguars, sloths, toucans, monkeys as well as others. We learned so much in that all the animals are rescues and not fit to return back to the wild. We then visited all the botanical gardens - so gorgeous - and ended up at a little "coffee" house where we had the pleasure learning from Aris - a lovely young man who has been with Diamante for ten years. Again - we were the only two people, so we had basically a private tour. He taught us how sugar cane is harvested, squeezed, dried, and ultimately made into brown sugar (I'll never buy white sugar again!). We also learned about coffee - how it's grown, dried, ground and we had the best sample of arguably the best coffee (and sugar) we have ever tasted. But then it kicked up a knotch - we learned all about the cacao bean and how that is harvested, dried, ground, and then combined with a little milk and sugar to make chocolate ...yummy! We had an amazing experience with Diamante ... I will certainly be telling anybody who is thinking about visiting Costa Rica to visit Diamante as well. At the end of the day we both felt enriched, happy, fulfilled - it was a wonderful day that we will always remember with happy thoughts!

Amazing experience through the quiet jungle on well-behaved horses. We were riding for a solid hour plus and the guides were great! Skip the ATV's and enjoy quiet nature...

I attended the excursion on my birthday. I had a great experience. Staff was attentive and made me feel safe. I would definitely participate again !

I wanted my kids to experience every bit of adventure on our trip to CR! This was no exception! 3 out of 4 of us have never been on a horse. My kids ages 10 & 7 were very excited to ride! The horses are very well taken care of and trained extremely well. You didn’t have to do much as the horses tend to just follow the lead horse. We had a private tour with 2 guides who spoke excellent English. We rode through the woods down to the most beautiful beach and then back up into the woods. About an hour on the horses was perfect amount of time. Go early in the morning as it gets very hot and it can be uncomfortable to ride. My kids, as first time riders, said this was their favorite excursion! This tour company is very well managed and thought out. Free parking with a shuttle to the reception area. Highly recommend Eco!

The ranch hands were great with the horses and paired them up well with the skill level each person. Some of the horses looked as though they needed a horseshoe change and hoof trim. It was cool to experience such a dry landscape although the ride itself was slightly boring. The ‘beach ride’ is merely a quick 5 minutes for a photo op. This would be a good activity to pair with other things!

Wonderful place. The personal were great people, they know everything about the rescue animals and try to help us all the time.

1. We were staying at Riu Guanacaste and wanted to try horseback riding on Dec 27th 2024 (on the day of our travel back from vacation). 2. The hotel concierge pointed us towards the travel agents at the hotel for some good horseback riding experience. 3. We had the following 2 constraints: -> only afford an hour for horseback riding end to end and -> need to check out the hotel immediately for our international flight at Liberia When we consulted all the agents at the hotel with our time constraint in consideration. 4. We consulted a couple of agents who made it clear that they cannot accommodate that. Unlike others the agent from Diamante Eco adventure park (claimed, atleast based on below explanation) , said they could accommodate both these conditions. 5. All this conversation between the agent and I was between 8:15-8:30am on Dec 27th 2024. 6. The agent (named Jalmar , I think) said that he could accomodate us for a 9am horseback riding tour (for 1hr) if we booked our tickets in the next 5 mins. 7. The agent then made a call to the operations team and confirmed that we can be accommodated for 9am (spoke in Spanish which I could not understand) and told us that everything will be arranged and ready for us for 9am , even though it was a late booking. 8. We requested we be brought back 15mins early so that we do not cut short the rest of the group and he confirmed that again on the phone and said yes. He also mentioned that we would have a separate guide to accommodate the shorter tour. 9. With all this assurance, we booked our tour (party of 4) at 8:32am at Riu Guanacaste hotel. 10. We received the confirmation email about our reservation at 8:55am. (20 mins after the booking and 5 mins before the tour starts). Please note that the agent never mentioned that: 1. They are from a different reservation company called TAM TRAVEL.We always were under the impression that they are Diamante employees as they represent your company. 2. We should be present at Diamante Eco adventure by 8:45am for a 9am tour. 3. In fact the agent assured us that if we reach there by 9am sharp (even though it is a late booking), everything will be ready for us and we will be brought back 15mins early to be back at our hotel by 10am (For the checkout). 4. Didn’t tell us that there is a bus ride to reach the reception. He made it sound that once we reach the park by 9am we are good. We reached the parking lot at exactly at 9am and the bus took us to the reception at 9:05am. 1. The reception checked in at 9:09am. Didn’t tell us that there was a bus ride and no one was waiting for us. 2. The reception was clearly not prepared for our tour. 3. The reception did not mention that we were late or gave us an option to proceed with the tour at that point or not. 3. They did not know we were coming. We asked the reception about our guide or horses and they asked us to get onto a different bus to be taken to the stables. 5. The reception was always trying to find an alternate bus for us which made it look as if they were scrambling to start our tour ASAP. 4. Once we went to the stable the horses were not ready. We waited another 10 mins for the horses to be ready. It was already 9:20am, a full 50min after our initial tour booking time. 5. We had to wait on the horses for another 5-10mins as the people kept saying somebody will come (we thought our guide) , but no one showed up to herd the horses until 9:25am. 6. A little child and an elderly person (who got the horses ready) then started the tour for us at almost 9:30am.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We had an incredible time. I am not athletic in any way. I felt comfortable and safe the entire time. The ride was easy. The horses were wonderful and so gentle. The ride had a nice pace and the area was lovely. I would highly recommend this activity.

Horseback riding was so fun with Arnold and Annie who took our pictures! The ride was beautiful and I loved our pictures. I do wish we could have actually rode the horses on the beach for just a little bit. It was one of the highlights of the day!

I would definitely recommend Diamante to everyone! My kids wanted to horse back ride and we found this place online and this organization exceeded our expectations. When you arrive they take you to a reception hall that's on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean, after checking in you'll take a shuttle to you excursion (the have zip lining, ATVs, horseback riding). The horseback riding was 1 hour that took us through the forest to the beach. Our guide took photos of us on my phone for me at the start and at the beach! After the tour the shuttle took us back to the reception hall where we decided to have an all you can eat lunch that was delicious with priceless views! The buffet prices were totally affordable and so worth it.
