Nisyros: Magische Vulkan-Expedition & Dorfidylle Nikia

Wir haben eine Schiffsreise zur Insel Nisyros, zum Vulkan und zurück gebucht. Es gab keinerlei Organisation, es waren keine Vertreter der Firma vor Ort. Auf Nachrichten wurde sehr spät geantwortet. Es wurde kein Ausflugsprogramm bereitgestellt – keine Informationen darüber, was uns erwartet, wo wir in den Bus einsteigen sollen usw. Wir waren nicht zufrieden. Die Tickets für diesen Ausflug hätte man auch direkt im Abfahrtshafen kaufen können.

Der Ausflug war großartig. Von der Buchung bis zum Transfer hat alles bestens geklappt. Kiki, unser Tourguide, hat uns die Insel und den Vulkan bestens nahegebracht und viel erklärt. Sie zauberte uns immer wieder ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Lieben Dank dafür.

Booked this trip whilst staying I. Kos Town. Coach picked us up from the hotel around 8am. Picked up the boat to Nisyros around 9-30am with a 1 hour crossing. We were then met by the guide at 10-30 and walked up to the town centre. We had a drink and a bite to eat before returning to the harbour to get on the coach at 1-30pm to go to the volcano. We had about 50 minutes there (ample) then coach to harbour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the place. Next one hour boat trip back to Kos and then around an hour on the coach back to the hotel. A very well ran and organised trip…. But left a little underwhelmed? Full day for 50 minutes at the volcano.

I really loved this activity. Both the volcano and Nikia village are interesting and beautiful. However, the whole trip felt extremely rushed as we were given only 30 mins to explore each site, yet we then spent 2.5 hrs at the port of Mandraki waitingfor the ferry back. I understand people need to make a living but sitting in a restaurant waiting for a ferry is not the aim of this trip. I would much rather prefer 60 mins at each location instead. If enough time was given I would happily repeat this experience again.

Booked the tour from Kardamena on the Sailaway website. Despite being end of September boat was packed, some people could not sit down as no seats left. Terrible conditions, cannot imagine what August is like! No announcement on board, no indication to where was our volcano bus, we had to go and ask some staff on the boat. No one confirmed at what time the boat was leaving the island, people were really confused ... No guide on the bus either, when the tour booked described a "guided tour" the whole thing was very disappointing. Driver could not speak English, the only words he knew were "45 mins" which was the time we had at the volcano and the mountain village. I would not book the bus with hindsight but would rather hire a car or scooter and do all these things freely as the island is small and there are plenty of hire shops where the boats arrive.

My partner and I recently stayed at Blue Domes and our experience was excellent from start to finish. Everything was impeccable with stunning sea views and distinctive architecture that makes you feel like you are in paradise. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and fully equipped, with a private balcony and a magnificent sunset view.The food was very nice with many restaurants and a wide variety of choices. We highlighted the Greek taverna and the beach bar. The staff was very kind and helpful.The beach and pools were perfect for relaxing and the atmosphere was peaceful and romantic. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to couples looking for an unforgettable getaway.

Awesome experience day was well planned. Boat trip was nice cruse then got to niyros into coach was took to the village first., whilst other trips went to the volcano. So after 40 mins we went to the volcano which was epic.

Excellent trip, boat departed on time and there was plenty of space (mid September). The additional £8 for the coach to the volcano is well worth it, slightly scary road on the island but the driver was brilliant, we really appreciated this! We were only expecting the coach trip but there was also a tour guide on the coach who made the short road journey very enjoyable. Brief stop at a small village on the way, we visited the volcano museum which was worth the £4 entry fee, was very interesting. About 45 mins at the actual volcano crater site, best to have some proper shoes trainers or good sandals rather than flip flops! For anyone with mobility problems there is a good viewing platform and cafe at the top so you aren’t left out. Coach trip back to the port area and then we had a good couple of hours free to browse the various shops, and had something to eat before getting back on the boat. Weather was windy so a few big waves, sit in the middle of the boat if you don’t like the motion of the ocean!

Very friendly boat crew which operated to time. Guide and coach driver were great too. Lovely island to visit with a beautiful town by the port that is lovely to explore.

Nice trip to see Nisyros highlights. Enjoyed visiting volcano the most. Nice coastal village of Mandraki with labyrinth of the streets.
