Wonderful all-day tour with Luis as our guide. Luis was very fun and friendly, as well as knowledgeable. We had a great time and it was a highlight of our time in Porto.

A really memorable day in such a beautiful region. Our guide (Andrea) was a joy, and it was everything we hoped for, even though the weather wasn't brilliant. 100% recommend.

We spent 11 days in Portugal, and this was probably the highlight of our trip. The trip is a breathtaking experience. The food and wine were incredible. Our tour guide, Eduardo from Oporrto Road Trips was the best we had the entire trip. If you are going to Portugal, you have to go the Douro Valley, and this trip is a great way to experience it in a small group. Highly recommended.

We were picked up from our accommodation by Luis, who is an absolute legend and really made the day fun and interesting! He was full of information about the area and it was great hearing facts about the history. We liked the wines at the first winery and the wines at lunch were our favourite. We didn’t love the wines at the second winery but the tour was interesting. The host was only new and very humble about what he did and didn’t know, which I loved. We had excellent and fun people in our group (there were 8 of us in total), which really made the day even more enjoyable. We would 100% recommend this tour.

Our guide Luis was knowlegible and a good driver. We had a fun time all day. The tour first made a brief stop in the idyllic town of Amarante. Then we proceeded to a winery with a beautiful view over the Douro river. Next stop was a tasty lunch in Pinhao at a small restaurant and an hour long boat tour along the river. Winding roads led us up to a second winery north of Pinhao. Finally Luis drove us safely back along the highway to Porto after a full day of good experiences in Douro. We were eight in a comfortable minivan.

Great tour exploring Douro Valley port tasting. Our tour guide Luiz gave us a good insight into the area sharing lots of local knowledge and had a great sense of humour making everyone very welcome. The port producers we visited were passionate about port and happy to share their products with us. A fulfilled day giving us a good insight into Portugal.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our Douro Valley wine tour, thanks to our amazing guide, Luis. From start to finish, he made the day unforgettable. Luis was incredibly knowledgeable about the region’s history, winemaking traditions, and local culture, and he shared everything with such humor and enthusiasm that we were captivated — and laughing — the entire time. Beyond his expertise, Luis was also extremely entertaining. His sense of humor, engaging stories, and fun personality made the day fly by. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and fun, making everyone in our group feel welcome and relaxed. The tour itself was beautifully organized, with stunning views, delicious Port wines, and great company — but it was Luis who truly made it special. If you’re considering a Douro Valley wine tour, do yourself a favor and ask for Luis — you’ll be in the best hands possible!

Had an absolutely wonderful day. Brahim was an absolute brilliant guide, nothing was too much trouble. Got caught in traffic due to an accident so delayed by nearly two hours but not a single complaint from Brahim. Would recommend this to anyone. Went on the boat trip & two wineries version. Rest of clients were great company.

Our tour guide was the best!! Pedro, with OPORTO ROADTRIPS was so fun, super knowledgeable and so helpful with tips and ideas for our trip. The boutique wineries were fantastic and all the people we met could not have been nicer. Highly recommend!!

- We send the exact pick-up time by mail the evening before the tour takes place - please confirm reception of message and be ready in advance for pick-up to avoid delays or missing the tour.
- Douro Valley's temperature is very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Thus, light clothes in summer and warm clothes in the winter are recommended;
- Weather Note: All of our activities happen in covered and protected spaces - we guarantee a safe and comfortable tour despite any weather conditions.
- Not recommended for children - if you are bringing children, please inform us in advance, as car seating is mandatory by Portuguese law.
- You can also be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto downtown area/city center only (Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos cities are outside pick-up limits).
- If your address is outside pick-up limits or in an area of difficult access (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume) we will set a meeting point a few minutes away so that you can board our van.
