Conquer Damajagua: 7 Waterfalls Ultimate Dominican Thrill!

The activity is strenuous and requires good mobility and a healthy heart and ability to climb over a mile and a half of uphill steps in a forest to access the waterfalls. It is a hot environment so you will be sweating. Once you begin sliding into the water at the falls you will be refreshed surprised at the depth of the water. The life vests and helmets are definitely needed. The guides are well experienced and helpful as needed to steer you along.

Driver was very helpful and apart from the climbing at the beginning a great overall experience. Definitely would recommend to my friends.

The driver is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and very polite. Once we get there, we hike and enjoy the unique waterfall. The lunch was delicious too.

Great experience. The meeting point was a bit confusing. You need to exit the port area. Besides that, it was a lot of fun!!! Highly recommended.

Our experience was amazing. Everything about this excursion was great.. The walk to the falls is a little long but it was worth it. My kids loved it .

Edwin was the best tour guide we have ever had in our life. He is so professional and made our family feel safe and welcome. Edwin picked us up just outside the taxi stand in Puerto Plata (this is about a 10 minute walk from the cruise ship). We were the only family on this tour and we felt so special to have our own personal tour guide. The drive to the waterfalls was about 30 minutes and Edwin told us all about everything we were seeing along the way as well as answering all our questions. Once at the falls we secured our items in Edwin's van while we were fitted for life vests and helmets. The tour was then given over to 4 other guides who took our family along with about 15 other people through the hike and waterfalls. The hike is rather strenuous so I would not recommend this for people who are in poor health or have injuries. The whole hike and waterfalls took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Immediately after the hike we had lunch on site. The lunch was traditional Dominican food and was delicious. The fish was so fresh! After lunch Edwin took us to a cigar/coffee/cocoa/jewelry shop run by locals. The prices at this place were reasonable and it felt good to support the local economy vs buying at a duty free or corporate business. Edwin then drove us back to the cruise ship area. I could not rate this tour any higher. Edwin was a true gem.

Amazing experience. Werbe, Omega and Giovanni were really fantastic guides. We had lot of fun even though some slides were closed because of dryness. We event had time to jumped twice the highest drop. Food was really good after this adventure. You can buy pictures at the end, which is really recommended. Lot of beautiful souvenir.

The experience team was fabulous! They were super responsive and helpful both in the days leading up to the experience and the day of. We got to learn a lot on the drive to the falls, and then once we were there we hiked uphill for 40min which was a tiny bit rough but a good workout. Then we got the waterfalls/slide and it was SO MUCH FUN! The guides were helpful and made sure everyone was okay and guided us on how to do it. We wanted to go again by the end! If you are doing this you’ll either want to leave your items on the bus or have waterproof bags, or only bring things you are okay with getting wet. Bring water shoes! You can rent them for cheap if you don’t though. Flip flops will not work. Thanks again for a fabulous adventure!!

This was such an amazing experience! Sammy and Louie were the best! The hike was intense in the summer heat/humidity, but the waterfalls were so refreshing!

It was worth the hike up the mountain! An exhilarating refreshing experience that stimulates your your mind, body, & spirit!
