Breathtaking Hallstatt: Unforgettable Alpine Lake Escape from Salzburg

Booked this at the last minute. Contacted Panorama Tours 30 mins before and they managed to fit us in. Excellent service. Hallstatt was stunning and we were fortunate enough to visit in great sunny weather even though it was mid December. Tour guide gave us some great info about the area and places to visitthat other tourists were not aware of. A definite if you are staying in the Salzburg area.

Great Tour, excellent guide (Richard) gave us lots and lots of interesting information about not only the area we were travelling through but also information about Austria. Lovely double decker coach, time in Hallstatt was a bit excessive given the size of the place (we were there 2.5 hours and it really was just a small village), could have done with half an hour less on the tour, it would not have detracted from it. The reason this was too long was that the cable car and salt mine were closed at the time of the visit, so there were no other attractions. Loved the round trip aspect of the coach journey, got to see some amazing views, especially on the way home. Well worth doing but quite expensive given this is, essentially, just a coach trip.

Our guide was very informative and provided us with wonderful information as we drove to and from Hallstatt. The town was beautiful to see. It was a wonderful 1/2 day excursion!

It's a scenic place to take a walk. However, disappointed not able to go for the salt mine and skywalk. Maybe a summer visit will be great!

We loved our half day trip to Hallstatt! We lucked out with amazing weather and the views were well worth it. We strolled around the town and had a nice breakfast. The skywalk is under construction but still worth the trip!

We booked this trip very last minute as we were planning to take the train, bus, and ferry. I am so glad we booked this tour with available space!! It was two full buses! You don’t have to worry which buses need to take and which bus stop to get off. Big thank you to our tour guide Suzie! She gave us Hallstatt’s background and also let us know about the Krampus run that night at Salzburg. Such a fun tradition to watch. And thanks to our driver Alex! Will recommend this!

Got a last minute ticket the morning of the trip. It was amazing. Comfortable bus, safe driving, funny tour guide talking during the trip. It goes at 8h15, takes around 1h30 to arrive and departs again from Hallstatt at 12h10. It's enough for seeing the small village, souvenir shopping and snack break. Very much worthed! So glad I had the chance to go. Thank you again Panorama Tours. P.S. you can go for free (mobile ticket for tourists that your accommodation should issue for you), but you must take a train, bus, and a ferry... would take double the time at least.

I think the half day trip is plenty of time to visit Hallstatt. After we arrived, we had 2.5 hrs before the leave time. We walked all around, took tons of photos and then shopped a bit for souvenirs. Our tour guide, Andrew, was a wealth of knowledge and humor! He made the ride there even more enjoyable by telling us about the different regions we were driving through and the history and tidbits about all things Austrian! And our driver was amazing! The coach is large and she handled it with finesse. The roads to Hallstatt are narrow and curvy, but it was smooth sailing all the way! Thanks for a great tour!
