We love road trips so loved the drive from Sedona to Glen Canyon and the river. Jamie, our small-van driver, was safe, fun and informative. The river float was fun and scenery breathtaking . We enjoyed our lunch on the beach sitting on a rock under a small mesquite tree.

This was a great trip!!!! Esp. with children. It is worth every penny. The tour is fully guided. On top of the fact that it was very nice an cool on during the hot hours of the day (the water was only 9 degrees centigrade on a hot day (39 degrees, which was a reason on it self to come), it was beautiful, the water was nice and calm ans the tour guide provided us with all sorts of information and was funny on top of that. We were afraid that it would last too long (+/- 4 hours), but it did nog feel at all too long. The video on their website gives you a good idea. Go book it.

Our family of 11 booked this trip last minute. Sheldon was an amazing tour guide! The trip was one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Even though we didn’t realize the trip from Sedona to Glen Canyon Dam was 3.5 hours, Sheldon made sure he provided a wealth of information all the way! He provided plenty of water, made frequent stops and made sure we were comfortable at all times. Our River guide “Mighty” was so fun and very knowledgeable!! We could not have asked for a better experience!!

The canyons were amazing! Our river boat tour guide was very cool and a lot of fun. Her name was Mighty! We left for our tour from Sedona and Sheldon from Great Ventures was our driver. He was kind, information, very accommodating and very informative! He made our four hr Drive there and back a great trip!

Beautiful scenery, smooth float ride, knowledgeable guide, very relaxing. You will be completely exposed to the weather so if it is very hot you should consider light clothing that will cover your arms, legs, her, and neck. the only unpleasant aspect of our trip was the heat and not having dressed with all light clothing and having coverage for neck and face. Sunscreen is highly recommended.

The great things about this trip - the scenery- hands down - AMAZING! The guides on the bus to the river (Ty) - very nice, knowledgeable and had some water on the bus for us. The guide on the River... also very nice - had tons of information. The views were amazing!!! Here’s some tips for you if you go on this trip - if you’re coming from Sedona - be prepared for a looong day. You pick people up in Flagstaff as well and it ends up to be 4 hours before you get to the river. My only regret is that I didn’t bring snacks for the bus. But the views the entire way there are amazing! 2nd - though the description is very clear - the picture for this tour led me to believe that though we would be floating through the river - I assumed that either on the way there or on the way back (the drive) - we would see Horseshoe Bend from the top. (From the angle of the picture posted). I was pretty disappointed when we didn’t. Also, when u get on the float - sit at the front for the best pictures. We were in the middle and always has to walk up front (trying not to step on anyone’s feet, etc...) They also provide a nice lunch. A sub sandwich, chips, an orange and a healthy bar. I really enjoyed this trip.... it was AMAZING. I just wanted to give heads up to anyone that might be looking to book this and what is included.

The combination of the 2 tours was perfect. We saw the bottom of the canyon on the River Float and the top from the south rim. Sheldon was a great guide.

My family and I have traveled a ton and, when we're in new areas, we try to find tours with knowledgeable local guides to help enhance our experience. Through the years we've had many, many tour guides but I must say that Sheldon, of Great Venture Tours, was one of the best guides we've ever met. Sheldon picked us up at hotel in Sedona and it was a three hour drive to the Colorado River. I was wondering what we would do for those six hour round trip so I brought a book to read and had podcasts listen to, but none were necessary because Sheldon spent the time teaching us about Arizona. He explained the history of the area and the native people, the reasons that certain plants grow where they do and the Arizona weather patterns and much more, all while he was pointing out the multitude of landmarks located along the way. The river trip itself was nothing short of spectacular. Glen Canyon is so picturesque that my meager descriptive abilities can't do it justice. Water on the Colorado is clear and cold. We saw a ton of fish, birds and even wild mustangs. There was no whitewater on our trip which my back appreciated. The temperature was in the 100's but it sure didn't feel like it due to having zero humidity. Our river guide, Kim Big Horse, did a great job of maneuvering through the canyon and further described the area, supplementing what Sheldon taught us. We were tired when we got back to the hotel, but it was a good tired. I STRONGLY recommend this tour to anyone and everyone.

Our driver Sheldon was absolutely amazing. Very professional and knowledgeable. He stopped us to see the best lookouts and took his time for every stop.
