Short drive to the first Wat Umong and interesting tour. Came for the Buddhas but was mesmerized by the bats and chickens. Then long and winding drive to Doi Suthep. Worth it for the city view, gorgeous temple and no crowds. It took about 4 hours and was a good inexpensive tour we booked last minute.

Even on a rainy night where you can’t see the city from the overlook, the tour is worth it. Learn a bit of history, a bit of the cultural heritage distinctly northern Thai, and see amazing sights all in 1/2 an evening.

We were very fortunate to have a good guide and excellent weather. This is the rainy season and it was raining heavily in the morning, but it cleared. Please be aware that there are monks praying at the top by the pagoda. This is not Disneyland. It is a place of active worship and should be treated as such. If you’re just going for the view, you can skirt around the Pogoda area. Keep in mind it’s at the top of the mountain and often cloudy so it depends on the daily weather.

I had an amazing night tour. The evening atmosphere of the temples was very magical crowdy our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained all the history of this temple and clearly told us about the culture. It was unforgettable experience.

Our guide Neu was so lovely and so knowledgeable which definitely added to the beauty of the temples getting to know the backstories. Doi Suthep was so pretty once lit up!
- Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- From May to October it is the rainy season. The tour runs even on rainy days, so please bring an umbrella or raincoat.
- Please note that carry-ons or large luggage cannot be accommodated in the van. (only items that can be placed on your lap are allowed .)
- If the pickup time is between 5:00 and 5:30, the van could arrive anytime between 5:00 and 5:30, but it does not mean that the van will wait for 30 minutes. Pickup times cannot be predicted in advance, so please wait in the lobby from 5:00. As this is a join-in tour that van visits several accommodations, please understand the pickup may be slightly delayed later than 5:30 if there are delays at other locations.
