Our captain was very hospitable and the refreshments were so lovely. She pointed out many interesting areas and answered questions. The only drawback is the lack of restroom facilities on board and near the dock. Be prepared!

We would highly recommend this tour. The small group was fantastic, much better than going on one of the bigger boats. Our guide, Stephen, was incredible with his knowledge of past history of Amsterdam and present history of the city. Don’t miss this tour!

Learned a tremendous amount of history about Amsterdam and the Dutch culture. Very enlightening! A must and worth the few extra dollars than the larger boat tours. The boat had a zippered roof which was helpful as we had on and off rain showers and we were able to stay dry while other smaller boats had to use umbrellas.

There were 15 people on our boat. It was great having a smaller boat tour and our tour guide was excellent. The boat ride included small snacks and drinks and it was lovely winding through the canals, listening to stories of the guide, and chatting with the other patrons. We chose the 5:30pm tour so we could see the canals during the day, but also to see the lights of the surrounding buildings after the sun went down. You cannot go to Amsterdam, without taking a ride on the canals, and this in my opinion was the only way to do it - small boat with my family, plenty of snacks and drinks and great stories of the city!

Captain Erik was a blast! We had a great time with him and loved our tour of the city and canals. It was a rainy day, but the boat had blankets and snacks and it was a very enjoyable way to spend our visit. Captain Erik gave several recommendations for our stay and provided a lot of knowledge about the history of Amsterdam and each area we visited. Would definitely recommend!!

We had a wonderful two hours cruising the canals of Amsterdam with Captain Eric on Amsterdam Small Group Cruises. There were only nine other guests on board, which made the experience relaxed and personal. Of course, we saw all the top sights—the Anne Frank House, the Seven Bridges, and the city’s iconic canal houses—but what truly set this cruise apart was Eric himself. His deep connection to Amsterdam and the thoughtful context he shared brought the city to life in a way no audio guide ever could. As we passed the Anne Frank House, he shared that his grandmother had been a classmate of Anne’s and showed us a copy of a birthday note Anne had written to her. It was a poignant, unforgettable moment that added incredible depth to the journey. Eric’s love for his country, his knowledge of its history, and his gentle reminder that those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it elevated what could have been a simple sightseeing cruise into something truly meaningful. The boat was comfortable and well stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks, and light snacks—perfect for a peaceful evening on the water. As we sailed past the larger, crowded tour boats, I felt so glad we had chosen this intimate experience. Thank you, Captain Eric, for an evening we will never forget.
