Breathtaking Luxor: Full-Day East & West Bank Discovery Tour

We were a group of 7 who pre-bookes via booking.com/ viator. Early start at 5am pick up ready to see the sunrise whilst in the Balloon. The transfer took us close to the valley of the kings where we board the Balloon. There was some hesitation about the Balloon ride within the group but I can say we felt very safe and the ride was very smooth. The view over the valley of kings was such a magical moment for us all. Just be aware that there are many children at the Balloon camp trying to sell you their wears and watch out for touching the birds as they will want money for doing so. Once off the Balloon ride we met Hassan our egyptologist guide and driver. Hassan was very knowledgeable about all the locations we visited and his English was very good so we can understand him well. It was a hot day, over 40 degrees C. The locations we visited were well worth seeing in the boiling heat. Vally of the kings is a really special place- i am however concerned that in a 1000 years the site may well be eroded given there is little protection in the tombs from the environment and tourist's. Lunch was amazing - we've had some pretty poor Egyptian food on our trip but Hasson took us to a place where it was fresh and delicious. All the locations we visited we're mind blowing just to think of all the hard work these ancient people put in to construct such amazing buildings. Thank you Hassan for making our day so special.

Did a solo tour with Hassan. He provided great insight into each site before entering which allowed for a really in-depth experience. The lunch was also really great, a nice break between west and east Luxor. Would definitely book again, highly recommend.

Overall, this was a very good tour — the guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day enjoyable. The transport was comfortable and everything ran smoothly. Just be aware that the entry fees for the sites are not included and add up to around €50 in total, including the small transportation inside the monuments and drinks with lunch. It’s still worth it, but good to know in advance so you can budget properly. The day itself is quite long — if possible, it would be even better split into two shorter tours, since there’s a lot to see and do. Other than that, it was a great experience and a nice way to explore everything in one day with a reliable agency and guide.
