Having grown up around castles and stately homes I can definitely compare and say this was well worth the visit. Views from afar along the lakeside, as well as up close, all impress. Staff helpful and smiling. Exhibits and services excellent. Very surprised how well the castle has held up over the centuries and how well it is being maintained. Unlike so many, you have access to most of it; not just one little wing or tower. A definite on the visit list. Suggest arriving when opens. On our departure was quite busy, even for late September.

The castle is easily accessible and has great map for visitors to follow. The preservation of the cadtle’s history is fabulous

Fun day exploring the castle located right on the lake. There also a public beach right next to it to swim!

Interesting castle. You can skip ahead of the line with your prepurchased ticket. Lots of different rooms with photos, paintings, furniture and descriptions of how it was in the medieval times.

I really enjoyed our visit here and wish we would have planned for more time! We also probably should have got the audio tour, but since we were short on time we just grabbed a map. I LOVED that we were able to explore the castle on our own without a guide- it was so fun to find all the different rooms. The castle is so picturesque as well!

Add this stop to your visit. The castle has been well preserved and documented with historical items and stories. There are few places you can’t go allowing you to see almost the entirety of the castle . It is easily worth the adventure. Be mindful that there are a lot of stairs and some areas have low overhangs and narrow passages.

Well worth a visit. There is lovely waterfront path that takes you directly to the Chateau. You can easily have lunch and then walk over on a nice sunny day. Well maintained chateau.

Very impressive castle. Great lighting systems. Very helpful audioguide that helped to better understand the history of the place. Clean everywhere.

It was especially fulfilling since I had studied Byron in high school and a friend of my dad’s had visited and brought me back a postcard. Getting my ticket in advance was a time saver. I just walked ahead and the person in the booth saw it and handed me a paper ticket and on I went.
