Emiglio is an extraordinary guide! His passion for Caravaggio and deep knowledge of Roman art and history made our private tour unforgettable. We visited three churches to see Caravaggio’s works up close, and he even surprised us with a visit to Rome’s first public library, where we got to see a 16th-century book. Of course Martin was so knowledgeable about Caravaggio, but I was so pleased that he was able to talk about so much of Roman and European art and history. We had such an enjoyable afternoon under his guidance.

This is excellent historical tour to do and it is a must to do in Roma. Our guide on this tour had a knowledgeable history of art and Italy.

Je vais à l'église St Louis des Français chaque fois que je viens à Rome, Aller revoir ces peintures est un must. Elles sont incontournables pour ceux bien sûr qui s'intéressent à la peinture. Sur le panneau de droite, on entend vraiment le cri angoissé de l'enfant, tant il est réaliste et saisi sur le vif, et on perçoit que le Caravage, malgré sa vie aventureuse, était profondément croyant. D'ailleurs, il a réalisé son autoportrait dans la scène, dont il est ainsi lui-même le spectateur. La peinture de gauche est un exceptionnel instanté, le moment précis du "toi, suis-moi". Des clairs obscurs de toute beauté...
