Iconic Panama Canal Transit: Northbound Locks Adventure

The actual tour experience was fine but there were a couple of areas that need attention. The map/directions to the boarding point need to be more explicit and descriptive. Google Maps took us to a city ticket office that was 25 minutes away from the actual boarding point, and we almost didn'tmake it in time. We were not alone to have ended up at the wrong spot but found at least four others that were in the same boat (pun intended). Second, even though food was served on the boat, it wasn't anything great. My wife who is a vegetarian had little choice. When I requested the manager to put together alternative options from the available food, she preferred to be inflexible rather than be accommodating.

Bucket list experience. On time departure from the Fuerte Amador resort right at the pier. Comfortable A/C seating inside along with up top seats outside. Good breakfast with a great lunch. The crew was excellent and the canal history and workings were given in Spanish and English. Took about 6 hours total with transit through 3 locks and then 25 min bus ride back to the resort.

Great explanations along the way that helps understand not only what is the transit about but also facts of it.

The entire process is seamless and enjoyable - they've got this down! An excellent way to experience riding on the Panama Canal without going the entire distance. Food was plentiful, and the other travelers were friendly. Great staff. Highly recommended!

Fascinating tour of an engineering marvel. Something to see with your own eyes. Videos don’t do justice. Recommend for ages 12up. My sons were 13 & 23. Well organized and timely, with a good English speaking guide who answered all our questions

A superbly organized tour of the Canal from Panama City to Gamboa. Our guide was congenial, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. The Pacific Queen was comfortable and offered great views of the locks, container ships, and canal operations. This tour is an excellent complement to a visit to the Canal Museum in Casco Antiguo. Well worth the half day!

It was very well organized, the staff was very courteous and the guide did a superb job with the information offered.

I really enjoyed this trip. We only had about 100 people on the boat. We left at 4 am but it was worth it. I had four teens with us and they had checked out by the end of the 2nd lock. It was cool to do a time lapse. Breakfast and lunch were good and filling.
