Marvel at the stunning views of Hierve el agua. Enjoy the natural pools and the surprising height of the waterfalls. Venture on an excursion where you will visit Hierve el Agua alone, a set of two waterfalls that have been petrifying for millions of years due to the mineral solution of calcium carbonate in the water. On the tour, go directly to Hierve el Agua as the only stop. We stayed in the place for 3 hours to have enough time to enjoy the natural wonders of Hierve el Agua without rushing. Learn about the history of Hierve el Agua, which is a set of petrified waterfalls that are distinguished by their white color and the more than 200 meters high that make them up. It is located in the Sierra Mixe of Oaxaca, in the town of San Isidro Roaguía in the municipality of San Lorenzo Albarradas, 70 kilometers from the capital. Remember to come with breakfast beforehand, or bring a box lunch since we will not make stops. You can buy inside

Does what it says on the tin - perfect if you aren’t bothered too much about an informative and attentive guide. Gets you from A to B (and back again). Half a day trip but takes up most of the daytime as it starts at 10.30 (departure more like 10.45) and return around 4.30. A good amount of time at the site if you do the hike around the pools, but might have felt a bit long if you had just been bathing.

We all had a wonderful day. The drive through the countryside was beautiful. The walk to the bottom of the calcified cascade was well worth the photos, the guide on the bus was great and the swim in the pools delightful.

Hierve de Agua is something not to be missed when in Oaxaca. It’s a beautiful place. The hike may be too difficult for some with knee problems. Otherwise, a must do.

I booked the tour very last minute with zero expectations. We were a group of 5 people - perfect for getting to know each other. The van was great - good air-conditioning and with stops for toilet and/or buying some snacks. We had an guide that could speak very good English on the way to HIerve el Agua - explaining significant things along the way. Thanks Johanthan for keeping us company and making the group bond.

If you don’t want all the mezcal, chocolate, pottery, lunch and textile tours this is the tour for you! We left about 10:45 and returned about 4:45. Perfect time to visit Hierve el agua 1.5 hours to get there. 3 hours there and 1.5 hours to get back. Had a great guide Jonathan who was informative and friendly.

Perfect half day excursion. Hike was a level everyone can do. Swimming in the pools at the end was delightful. Makes your skin feel so good. All topped off with a coconut with mezcal at the end. Lovely that

The Hieve el aqua half day tour was amazing! Our driver was very informative. The petrified waterfalls was unbelievable. The hike was certainly doable and so glad we did it. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The water was cold but lots of people were in and the scenery was breathtaking. So happy we chose to do this tour.
