The walking tour was amazing!! First, our tour guide, Dimitra, was very sweet, funny, and very informative. She led us on a wonderful culinary journey. It was very helpful as it was our second day in Athens to be able to get an idea of what kind of food we liked and could look for on the rest of our trip. We started in a lovely family bakery, Artos Venetis 1907, with spanokopita and baklava that we took to Myller Coffeehouse to eat with traditional Greek coffee. We then walked to the market to sample nuts, figs, and raisins at 1001 Geuseis. We walked through the fish and meat market to Volvi where we sampled sutzukaki. Next we were off to Zardakian Delicatessen to sample charcuterie, olive oil and raki. The provio, sheep’s milk yoghurt with thyme honey was a favorite. We ended up at a taverna, Paradosiako Kafeneio Kastello, for a family style sampling that included meat dishes, pasta, and seafood. A sampling of Mastiha liqueur and moscato was included. The tour ended with fried balls of dough with sugar syrup, cinnamon, and sesame seeds at Lukumades Chanion Ktistaki. An amazing overall experience that left us very full and with new knowledge of Greek foods. Every place mentioned was worth a return trip. Thank you Dimitra for a great time and a great tour!!!

Great experience! We enjoyed a nice variety of food and drink. Our guide, Anna, was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and seemed very well liked by the proprietors of every establishment. She really helped make this a great experience.! The tour was an excellent way for immersion into the Greek food culture. The gyro stop was the best - we returned another day for round 2 (I still like the chicken the best). Anyway, go hungry, and enjoy - highly recommended!

The food was very good, make sure you do not eat for 3 hours before the tour so you will have space to eat additional food. Maria our tour guide was excellent. Very engaging to all tour participants as well as the local eatery businesses. I highly recommend her.
