Unforgettable Oaxaca: Ruins, Falls & Mezcal Immersion

Ivan was our tour guide, he was amazing and exceeded our expectations. He was so kind, funny and very knowledgeable about all the locations we went to and Oaxaca culture. We didn’t feel rushed at each location and were able to go at our own pace which we loved. We got to learn a lot about the local culture and saw monte Albán without the large crowds, got to see some beautiful rugs and learned about all the work it takes to make them and the details and meaning of the each rug, stopped at a small Mezcalería to see the whole process. We highly recommend this tour.

We really liked this tour and had no issues with the time we were given for each sight. Our guide/driver was also very friendly and knowledgeable. Our only complain has to do with the food situation. We were under the impression (because it’s on the itinerary) that lunch was going to be at Mercado Tlacolula. Because we have dietary restrictions and it was a full day tour, we researched the market beforehand to make sure it had options for us - it did. So we booked the tour. When lunch came, our guide told us that the options were either a street food stall or a restaurant. None of those places had options for us and were confused as to why we couldn’t go to the market that was on the itinerary. We found a place with food options for us only a 3-minute walk from one of our sights and asked if we could go there to grab something to go but he said no, we can only go to either the stall or the restaurant. We opted for the restaurant and only had guacamole since it was the only thing were able to eat until our arrival to the center at around 7:00pm…so you can imagine how horrible we were feeling towards the end of the trip. The place was also a tourist trap but that’s how these tours go. We understand that there is some kind of arrangement/discount between the guide and the restaurant but I would’ve liked to go to the place that was on the itinerary, which also says that our guide would advice us on food options according to our needs, which wasn’t really the case.

This tour is very complete! Our tour guide Daniel was friendly, funny, social, and flexible with us especially when we wanted to take lots of photos. He kept our itinerary perfectly on time and was always respectful (we were a group of four women). He drove safely and explained everything clearly. At Monte Albán, our local guide was amazing very passionate and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the place. The mezcal stop was really fun and interesting! They explained the whole process in a lively way, and the place itself was beautiful. The mezcal tasting was a great experience, and what I really liked is that they didn’t pressure us to buy anything (even though we ended up buying some anyway, haha). The price for this tour is an excellent deal if you compare it with others, you’ll see what I mean. Highly recommend! Thank you!

It was a beautiful, breathtaking experience. No one should leave oaxaca without experiencing the views of Monte Albán and Hierve el agua.

The was amazing, got to learn about the history and culture of Oaxaca. The petrified waterfalls is unique, very beautiful place.

This was an awesome experience, Miguel was an amazing tour guide and spoke English! Manuel was also amazing picking us up at our Airbnb and driving us around 9am to 9pm. I would recommend this trip to anyone that is trying to experience Oaxaca in one day! Overall this was a great experience for all of my friends total of 13 of us.
