Pretoria's Hidden Gems: Unforgettable Half-Day City Tour

Turned out to be a private tour for my wife and me. Great overview of the city, and uncrowded stops at all the key points of the tour. Hilo was personable and very knowledgeable.

Our guide, Tsholo was fantastic. Very attentive, and knowledgeable. We had great conversations, learned a lot and really enjoyed our tour.

Our tour guide Tsholo was fabulous!!! He picked us up promptly at our hotel and happily greeted us. We drove in a very comfortable vehicle and saw many sites of interest. Tsholo was very knowledgeable and all the history was so interesting. So much more interesting than I thought it would be. We never felt rushed and highly recommend this tour!! I so loved the Joberg & Soweto tour I booked a tour with this company again. I was fortunate to get Tsholo again on a private tour and we explored Pretoria. This was the story before the creation of Joberg and it pulled the day before history together. I was 100% in great hands and listened to the amazing story of how two republics became South Africa.

I wanted to see Pretoria again after almost 20 years since my last visit. Well, it was not what I had expected, so I was a bit disappointed with the trip (but not with Stephenson Adventures). Nelson, our tour guide, provided excellent service, but the city seemed less clean and safe than I remembered. There were squatters near the Union Building, which was quite different from my previous experience. Additionally, Kruger’s house, though interesting to see, requires urgent investments; otherwise, it might collapse. Freedom Park was pleasant, but there wasn’t much to see. The highlight of the day was definitely the Voortrekker Monument, which left a lasting impression. In my opinion, if you find yourself with a spare day in Johannesburg, consider rather booking a hotel in SunCity for an extra day.
