Mendoza Whitewater: Transformative Rafting Adventure (9-Hr)

My wife has never been rafting and we laughed so much and had the best time!! Ricky was an incredible guide and totally made the adventure worth it. Thank you to Backroads for setting it up. I highly recommend.

This was a great trip. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was due to the experience not completely matching the description. We signed up for an English speaking tour. We were picked up by the company and drove an hour in the van with 2 other couples, a driver and 2 guides. No one but us spoke English. The guide was providing information along the way but we could not understand it and felt we were missing out. Also the description says you can explore the town of Potrerillos after the rafting. There was no town. We finished rafting around 1 pm and the van didn’t leave until 3:15 to take us back. There was a nice restaurant where we ate but nothing else to do. For the actual rafting experience- it was awesome!!! They are very organized and clearly have expertise in conducting these tours. We had an amazing guide, Blake, who ensured our safety and fun. They give a lot of safety talks before you go (about what to do if you fall out of the boat, etc) which freaked me out but once we got on the water it was incredible. One person in our raft did fall out but it was no big deal- she was able to get right back in. The rapids were so much fun and the scenery is spectacular. They have photographers taking pictures along the way that you can buy at the end for about $10 USD. I highly recommend this if you will be in Mendoza.

It was a wonderful experience. From communication with the office and the bus driver kept in contact with me before picking me up to All the guides and kayakers all very professional. It was very organized and included a couple english speaker for the ones that needed it. They made sure you had the right gear and knew all the safety precautions and then we had exciting time on the river, great group of people and business. Oh, and the restaurant is a big bonus great food and staff

Great experience, great staff, the only thing is it takes a full day for one hour's rafting because like all events here in Mendoza, they collect everyone from their hotels, which takes 45 minutes, and again dropping off. Also, after the rafting you are left in the location for 2.5 hours to hang around, so that you are enticed to buy lunch and spend a little more. It is a lovely location, but 2.5 hours hanging around was 1.5 hours too much for us anyway.

Our rafting and kayak adventure on the Mendoza River was an unforgettable journey from start to finish. The thrill of navigating the rapids, combined with the serene beauty of the surrounding landscapes, made for an exhilarating day out. Our guides were outstanding—both friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, ensuring our safety while enhancing our experience with fascinating facts and helpful tips. It was the perfect blend of adventure and fun, leaving us with memories we’ll cherish forever. Absolutely worth every penny and a solid 10 out of 10. We highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for an exciting and rewarding experience on the Mendoza River.

The staff were professional and very safety-oriented. They gave clear directions and made sure we all had a lovely time.

Kevin was an awesome guide. Trip Advisor did a good job of describing the excursion. The pickup from the hotel was on time and finalized with confirmation calls in the am. My wife who does not swim was very scared and Kevin did all that he could to ensure she had a enjoyable and safe trip while ensuring the rest of the rafters were able to enjoy the thrill of rafting themselves. I highly recommend enjoying the food that they had. It is high quality at a good price.

The activity itself was a fraction underwhelming, approx 30-40 minutes in the water. But over a 7 hour duration. The wait for the transport back is over 2-3 hrs. And in my opinion not necessary. The activity was well organised and all of the staff were lovely. Just underwhelming and I personally don’t think it’s worth the money.
