1. Glen Ord Distillery is located in Muir of Ord, a village located 14 kilometers west of Inverness in the Scottish Highland. Founded in 1838, this distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland and it was part of the Scottish Malt Distillers, now part of Diageo. Glen Ord produces single malt whiskies that have a distinctive flavor and aroma. The water used in the production of Glen Ord whisky comes from Cnoc nan Speireag (Hawk Hill).

Interesting fact: Glen Ord is one of the few distilleries that continue to malt their own barley on-site, using traditional floor malting methods.
