Prado Museum: VIP Skip-Line Small Group Masterpiece Tour
We are proud to say that this experience was awarded with the Viator Experience Award 2023 for second time in a row! This tour goes through the Prado Museum highlights. There are more than one thousand paintings inside (no, we didn't make a mistake, that's the truth), so we can't explore it all, nevertheless, we provide the base for you to go on your own after the visit. That's why we like to describe this as a didactic tour. However, if you're an Art Pro, we've got good news: since we're going to be only 7 people, you can choose what to see and make requests, and that's why we like to describe this as a flexible tour. If you are coming in a bigger group, send a mail and we'll arrange the visit.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide was excellent. This tour was a great way to view the highlights of the museum.

Belen was an excellent guide. We were relieved she said she preferred to give an overview and then pick some notable paintings and provide history and context on the chosen paintings through the various centuries of Spain’s and her neighbors’ histories. This made for a far more enjoyable visit than having to be shown so many paintings. After all, the Prado houses more than 1700 works. She welcomed questions and comments. She navigated us with ease and calm in spite of having to wrangle with large groups. We enjoyed the visit immensely.

Our small group tour of the Prado Museum was outstanding. We really enjoyed our guide, Belén. She was very knowledgeable and made sure that we didn't attempt to see everything highlighting some of the most interesting pieces in the museum.

Our guide was excellent as she took us around the Prado and explained a number of the important works of art. Her interpretations and explanations were easy to follow and insightful.

The museum is one of the best we have ever visited. And our guide Belen was extremely impressive and thorough.

There are good guides. There are great guides. There are excellent guides. And then there is Isabel. Isabel recently led us on a small group tour of key works in El Prado. Not only was she phenomenally knowledgeable, she also had a huge passion which was both inspiring and infectious as well as a real empathy, constantly checking that we were all OK and could get good views. She was really able to bring every picture we stopped at to life and her explanations provided a whole new dimension. Overall my wife and I have just returned from 9 days spent in Madrid and Valencia and we are agreed that our visit to El Prado was the best moment – not just because of the treasures it holds but because Isabel was such a joy to be shown around by.

The group was small (four participants) and the tour guide (Macarena) is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the selected paintings. While the museum was not packed, there was a lot of background noise (even a humming noise) that made it difficult for me to hear the guide (some of that is on me as I do have high pitched hearing loss). But the museum might pay some attention to noise abatement to enhance visitors' experience.

Maria met us at the Goya statue and proceeded to give us a Spanish art history lesson. I thought that I knew a bit about it but was very impressed with her knowledge and delivery. Highly recommended this to anyone interested in Goya and Velasquez.

Macarena was a wonderful tour guide. She combines an enormous knowledge of art techniques and history, a focused approach, and an engaging style to provide an outstanding tour experience.
