Taronga Zoo was incredibly easy to access from Circular Quay – the ferry ride over was quick, smooth, and added to the experience with beautiful harbour views. The zoo grounds were clean, well-maintained, and you could really tell the animals were well cared for, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The bird show was absolutely fantastic and a definite must-see – the views during the show were incredible too! The seal show was equally brilliant, full of energy and great fun to watch. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well shaded the paths and viewing areas were, making it very comfortable to walk around even under the sun. Overall, a brilliant day out and would highly recommend!

Highly recommend this zoo , the ferry and bird show were a highlight. Allow at least half a day as it was quite a large zoo and arrive early before it gets hot.

This is an outstanding zoo in a beautiful spot. Most exhibits were clear to see and facilities were great with good food options. The zoo map could do a better job of showing where the playground is because there’s one quite big play area and a couple of others that really have nothing in them, and it’s impossible to tell which is which from the map.

What a great zoo, map is drawn the wrong way around, but once you work that out it's easy to use, we spent 6hrs here Bowen by coffee and food breaks, great day out

Don't get here before 0930hrs as gates don't open till then, we spent a good 4 1/2hrs walking around great value for money, we did our tickets through viator and saved half price, brilliant way to do it, also included the ferry from Central Quay,

We took a ferry from circular quay straight to the zoo. It took about 15 minutes. The zoo is a really good size with a good range of animals. There are up close encounters available with some, which may be booked at the zoo or possibly online. We booked the koala encounter on the day, and this allowed us to spend 5 minutes up close to take photos and ask the guide questions about the koala. This was one of the highlights of our visit.

My partner and I visited during our honeymoon in September, we consider ourselves pretty Zoo savvy, having been to many different Zoos across the world and this was is our absolute favourite! The theming, the setting, the enclosures, the animals, we couldn’t find a single fault with it at all. We pretty much saw all of the animals, they all looked really well cared for with cleverly laid out enclosures designed to replicate natural habitats. The grounds of the Zoo itself make it seem very tropical and the trees and bushes dotted throughout provide ample shading opportunities, very much needed in the heat. Signage was spot on, useful and beautifully presented and we saw a lot of species that we had never seen before (being British). Highlights for us were the long-beaked echidna, platypus and quoll. We honestly couldn’t fault this Zoo if we tried, a must do for all Zoo and animal enthusiasts!

We usually don't visit zoos, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We spent all our time with the Australian animals and birds. The guides were very knowledgable and passionate about the animals and there are lots of signs with useful information. The layout of the zoo is interesting and the views are beautiful.
