Breathtaking Milford Sound: Flight & Cruise from Queenstown

Fantastic experience! The flight was spectacular! Such beautiful scenery. We drove the first time we went to Milford many years ago and I would never do it again, especially now after flying in. That drive is a killer and it’s definitely worth the money to see such amazing sights. I also loved going with an NZ owned company to support locals. We have been on a lot of trips and the lunch on this one was the best picnic box style one we’ve ever had. Simple fresh food.

This was my 3rd trip to the Queenstown area and every time I come I have to fly to Milford Sound. It's worth every penny to fly rather than spend 9-10 hours in a bus driving to Milford Sound. The views of the mountains, glaciers and the sound from the air are spectacular. To be honest, I enjoyed the flight more than the scenic boat ride (although that was excellent as well) Milford Air is a great family owned company and it just feels like a more intimate experience. Our pilot, Anthony, was amazing. So friendly and informative. If you're afraid of small planes, he really puts you at ease.

It’s hard to find the right words to describe what an amazing experience this was. I was petrified to take a small plane, but it was clear from the start that Antony was a very experienced pilot who knew the area like the back of his hand! We had a “tour” in both directions on the way to Milford Sound. Then a cruise on one of the smaller boats. We purchased the lunch, which was very good! The weather changed while we were there and Antony did a great job at changing the return to avoid the weather. So far, best activity we’ve done in Queenstown! Highly recommend !

Brilliant experience, high quality tourism. Our pilot Tom was clearly very both passionate, knowledgable and professional plus certainly reassured the passengers who were a little apprehensive of flying in a small plane all around the mountains. We were very lucky with the weather but I am sure even without sunshine it would be a holiday high point. Would strongly recommend

WOW WOW WOW what an amazing experience this tour was, the views from the aircraft were absolutely amazing. Our pilot Eric was wonderful and pointed out lots of things for us to see. The flight is about 40 minutes each way, the cruise was just as good and we were lucky enough to see the Yellow-eye penguin in their natural habitat. I have a fear of heights and do not like small aircraft but I managed to stay calm and enjoy everything.

It was incredible. Our pilot Anthony was great. He was so informative. Our captain on the boat worked so hard to show us wildlife. We even got to see penguins. Amazing day

This is THE way to experience Milford Sound and the once in a lifetime views of the snowy mountains that surround it. Gliding above the mountain peaks and down into the Sound to a soft landing, then doing an incredible return flight, beats hours and hours on a bus ride any day! Amazing value for the cost.

From start to finish , just a pleasure. Very professional. Made us feel like VIPs. I will never forget the flight over. Just so beautiful. The cruise was a nice small boat. We got priority boarding for fabulous views of the sound. Despite doing this every day, we really felt they were trying to give us the best possible experience. Thanks guys
