Dart River Jet Boat: Queenstown Wilderness & Glacier Thrill

It was a great experience from the initial booking. Friendly staff and professional boat driver. The trip up the Dart River was spectacular, both from a scenic perspective and the thrill of being in the jet boat. Stopping along the way to be told about the area and history also rounded out the trip - it wasn’t all ‘hold onto you hats’ for the whole journey but when Pedro said let’s go you definitely held on!! Great experience!

An absolutely enjoyable experience. Our experienced guide made sure we had fun by asking us what we wanted to do and see along the way. We were well cared for from start to finish. And the scenery was spectacular!

We had such a great time, way above our expectations! The place is absolutely stunning, from the drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy to the actual boating up the river into the national park everything is breathtaking! The experience was made even better by our boat driver Jordan, he’s fun and informative, and such a character! Haha. Great host. The reservations team was very helpful and it was all easily organised. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour guide! We still enjoyed the full jet boat experience, with the bonus of fantastic photography opportunities. It was absolutely worth the money for a two-hour adventure. The ride catered for all ages, and the waterproof jackets provided were a great touch. The small group size made the experience even better, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere on the jet.

Pedro was great!! Definitely gave us thrills and spins! Appreciated his knowledge of the beautiful scenery and our surroundings. The weather was fantastic so we got to go to places they don’t usually go to. Amazing! Would recommend!

Finn was a fantastic operator & full of information about the Dart River & its surrounds. Could tell how much he loved his job. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking! Would highly recommend & do again in a heartbeat.

Our driver, Jordan, was great and the scenery was majestic. My issue was with the boat itself. The two other boats that went out at the same time had 4 seats in the back row. The boat my husband and I were on had bench seating in the back row and 5 people were expected to sit in that row. Unfortunately for us, we were in the back row. There were already three people in the row, and a couple were larger sized. When my husband and I sat down there was really no room for us. My husband sat on the end, on the outside. I had to squeeze in, and did not fully fit. I am 5’2” and 125 pounds. I was unable to put my arms down by my side and had to shift sideways against the back of the seat. I was very uncomfortable the entire ride, which made for an unpleasant experience. My suggestion would be to not sit in the back, if you can manage that, or jump on a boat with just 4 seats in the back row. I mentioned my bad experience to the front desk clerk and was told he would pass the information on to management, which in my experience generally means too bad, so sad for you.
