Had an amazing time going on the Pacaya hike. It’s a bit of an upward hike , but absolutely worth it. Transportation pick up was on time and our guide was great! Would highly recommend it!

The PACAYA Volcano was an amazing experience. We literally walked unto lava rocks and saw the transformation from the eruption. The hike took about 2.5 hours in total. The views are incredible! Definitely a must!

We had an amazing hike up Pacaya with our guide Ervin. He was patient and extremely knowledgeable, and took the time make sure we thoroughly enjoyed the hike and understood local customs, history and fauna. Our group of six hikers had an unforgettable day!

A very nice trip with a fun team. They took time ti be fun with us and share with us the culture and science involved. Bonus points for lava marshmallows!

Fun trip. Really enjoyed it. It's a pretty steep climb. People in our group did it in tennis shoes but I'd want the best possible. Recommend bringing a minimum of 100Q + tips cash per person for the tour. Didn't see an ATM nearby. 1 Liter water, hiking shoes or boots, were all helpful. You drive about 1.5 hrs to the bottom of the hike. Then hike about 1.5 hrs up and 1.5 hrs down stopping along the way. The tour makes this super easy. If you want to do the horse, it's 300Q, we heard? It wasn't for us but 1 person in our group used it.

I missed hotel pick up so they provided me another place to meet them, which was only a 7min walk away. We stopped for coffee & restroom before heading up to the volcano area, before leaving antigua. Once we got to the entrance of the volcano, our tour guide was Carlos, hike up was a bit fast but that’s bc the group was fast. I couldn’t keep up so i rented the horse about 20mins in the hike, im 26 and i thought i would be more it than i was lol. There were ppl who were in their 50s and were able to do the hike. I walked for the way down. It was 250 for using the horse up and 300 or 350 total if u use it for up and going down. Going down is pretty easy even if u have bad knees. We unfortunately couldn’t see the volcano at the top bc of the fog. Overall good experience, couldve hiked it up if i was able to go my own pace.

The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The hike was incredible and we had a wonderful experience - small group, clear skies and help, if needed.

It was certainly more challenging experience than I was expecting! The trek up the mountain was about an hour of an intensity of about 8/10. Keep in mind that you start the hike at about 5,000 feet about sea level and climb another 1,500 feet higher. This is difficult if you are not used to the elevation! They do bring horses on the journey with you in case you need to ride one on the way up or down! The summit is beautiful and well worth the journey. It's great to go in the morning as it can get cloudy in the afternoon at the top of the peaks. On the way down, you stop to make smores with steam from the volcano, you stop at a Lava Store & pizza place, and at the bottom there are bathrooms and a coffee hut! The guide is great at stopping to show you different plants/trees & tell you some of the history of the past eruptions. Overall, I highly recommend the excursion but do make sure you are physically ready for the hike!

Really enjoyed this activity. The tour guide was so informative and helpful. Pizza and smores on a volcano is a one of a kind experience I’ll always remember! I do think the add ons were very over priced. The horses were 300 q’s one way and 400 round trip. Pizza ranged from 20 usd’s-60? Outside of that I loved it. Also make sure to bring cash to tip!

I loved the hike to the volcano. The guide was very knowledgeable, compassionate and very caring of all the members in the group irrespective of age, capability and endurance. He made my experience so memorable!
