Unforgettable Milford Sound: Exclusive Boutique Fjords Tour
No address available
Rated one of the Top 10 Experiences in New Zealand. Join our boutique small boat cruise and experience Milford Sound the "local" way. We limit passenger numbers on all cruises to half of the boats capacity (capacity 150 passengers) to guarantee an uncrowded and much more personal experience. Let us show you our backyard on this once in a lifetime experience. Relax with complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits and enjoy the skipper’s live commentary while marvelling at the breath-taking scenery. The smaller size of the vessel enables us to get you up close and personal with the local wildlife like New Zealand Fur Seals, dolphins and the very rare Fiordland Crested Penguin (spring/early summer). A “Glacial Facial” under the Sterling Falls is an experience not to be missed.

Such a lovely day with Geoff being an excellent guide in every way. He was informative , funny , helpful and also made sure we had plenty of stops for photo opportunities. The drive was stunning and the boat trip equally so. The picnic was delicious too. Highly recommend

What a wonderful experience! My wife arranged a trip for my 59th birthday, and from the beginning, it was terrific. Milford Sound is a natural marvel that is worth the trip to see. Apparently, it's one of the most popular holiday destinations for Chinese tourists, and I can see why. The line was short and quick; there was plenty of room on the boat. From the beginning, we realized that Craig, the captain, was going to be hilarious. His line "In case of emergency, do not panic, my highly trained crew and I will take care of that for you". But it was also very informative and joyfully educational. Descriptions of the anatomy of the sound (which, we learned, is actually misnamed, as it's a Fjord) were couched in the story of the epochs of geological formation that brought it about. I even got a shout-out for my birthday and applause from everyone aboard. Craig also shared the concern of his fellow citizens, knowing that they lived right on the Pacific Rim of Fire and that a major earthquake was due in the next few years that would probably measure over 8 on the Richter scale (which will be devastating). The ship was comfortable, and tea and cookies were laid out for us throughout the trip. This is a small, family-run business, and the care they take is obvious. Totally a 5 out of 5 experience. Thanks, Captain Craig, and your wonderful crew.

We had such a wonderful experience with Cruise Milford! Cruise Milford is a smaller cruise boat that allowed us to go extremely close to view seals and waterfall. My son and I were all happily drenched from the waterfall! Special shoutout to Faye who sent us our pics :). Milford Sound is an amazing place, and we would highly recommend Cruise Milford.

We loved the cruise. Friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic staff along with beautiful views made it extra special. The coffee, tea and cookies were a nice treat to warm us. Would highly recommend.

Captain stopped so we could see dolphin and seals at various times of the cruise. He gave us a good narrative without talking too much. He warned of rough water and gave clear explanations of how to keep safe on the boat.

Great experience!!! Gets you up close and personal with the Fiords, which are absolutely breathtaking. Even on a cloudy rainy day. There are many boat tours that allow you to experience Milford Sound but I am so happy that we chose this one, the smaller boat and the fact that they only fill to half capacity means everyone has plenty of space and theres no fighting for the best view/spot!!! Felt comfortable enough to leave our bags (not waterproof) inside while we were immersed in the waterfall spray and rain haha. Crew is super friendly and helpful, took some great pics of us too (: Highly recommend! Only reason for 4 stars (I would give a 4.75 if I could) was because we had a lot of trouble hearing/understanding the skipper unless we were inside, wish we could've soaked in his knowledge and the falls at the same time!

We booked online with Pure Milford. It was a good trip and well done ( 4/5). We were traveling from Te Anau to Milford Sound (there is no specific spot where it stops. It's just a general area... and ppl were running around to figure out the bus or stand in queue. A better arrangement would be nice). When the bus arrived from QUEENSTOWN, it was almost full, and I was worried we would not get a window (seat pre-assignment would be nice). But the driver did a good job, and we did get a window seat. The trip was smooth, and while it was a gray, rainy, and gloomy day, the driver's expert driving and a good cushioned bus made the bus journey worth the while. We were immediately huddled into the cruise (it was not too large nor too small). We had vegetarian lunch along with the ticket and hot drinks. The personnel on the vessel were very polite and nice. Once the boat came back, we had to be on the bus by 3.15pm. And we were home by 6! A tight schedule we wd definitely not have achieved had we traveled in our camper. 1. I wd have liked to have a nice printed cruise ticket (souvenir) 2. Acoustic in the bus and esp boat cd be better 3. Cdnt not hear any commentary on the boat sitting outside. 4. Te Anau stop shd have better arrangement for queuing up. Pros. Good food Comfortable ride Excellent bus Good schedule. Very nice staff on the ship Will recommend.
