We had an amazing time and gained a deeper understanding of the city’s rich history, thanks to our wonderful tour guide, Cindy. The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the best of the city.

Our guide Gail was amazing. She was so knowledgeable about the city, history and food. The food was fantastic. Each stop was just enough food so we didnt feel stuffed. Although the tour is a bit longer, we had stops along the way to check out local landmarks, special spots like the riverfront, monuments so it was manageable. there were some stairs but most places had elevator access. Definitely recommend the tour! Thanks Gail for a wonderful time.

I am sad to say that I was not impressed with this tour. The first Food tour i ever went on was in Savannah and I loved it. We had several stops, all with good food and a explanation as to why the food was special to the city. It seems like this tour has been commercialized. I admit our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us some good history even though it seemed to be a script and played out as such. The Food was average at best. If you are going to walk from one location to another, you would hope that the item waa very good, or at least specail in some way to the local cusine. We started out being told that Savannah is known for their biscuits and gravy and then we were given a bite size version of a dry biscuit and jam. Why say one thing and then serve something else. The next highlight, as we were told, was the smallest pub in America (i thought we were on a Food tour) where we were given a sausage in a puff pastry that tasted just like the Jimmy Dean sausage in the grocery store. I understood the local reason for the choice of the shrimp and grits dish. I admit the shrimp was seasoned well. A crab bisque was decent and a doughnut pork belly slider was average at best. I thought the honey tasting we did was informational and tasty although how that was unique to the savannah cuisine still confuses me. I didn't get the feeling that the tour had much to do with Savannah in general. 4 out of the 5 places seemed to be a corporate location that wanted to sell you drinks along the way. A totally different tour.... I was hoping that we were going to find Food that was specifically tailored to the local area, get the history of why we were being served the dishes and throughout the 3 hour tour actually feel like we had a meal. I have been on at least 10 Food tours in different cities around the world and the portion sizes as well as amount of stops both disappointed me.

Our tour guide Christopher was excellent. He was energetic and full of helpful knowledge. The meeting point was easy to find and I appreciated the 10% discount off the products at the store. That said I think the company could pick out a few better stops. The first stop at the British pub was fine although I wasn’t expecting a sausage croissant on a Savannah food tour. The restaurant in the Alida hotel didn’t seem very original nor did having shrimp and grits in the lobby of the Andaz hotel. I did like the stop at Common as well as the honey tasting at Savannah Bee Company. Value for money seemed to be lacking a bit.
