We were lucky enough to go in January or slower season. It was just us 2 and the guide. Less tourists and more time to take in what happened there. Our guide was excellent.

My husband & I went on a Dachau tour with Alun. It was just the three of us & he tailored it to us. Alun was so knowledgeable & gave great insight that we would not have gotten doing a tour on our own. He was extremely sensitive to the subject matter. It was nice to have Alun meet us & to navigate the transportation. On the way home a train line was down & he made sure we got on the right path to our hotel.

It was a shocking experience to see all the information that is usually taught at schools from this new perspective. In addition, Alun made it super clear and understandable, allowing me not only listen, but reflect and understand about what happened in the site. The 3 hour length at the site feels short when taking into account the amount of history the site harbours. However, Alun made the most of those 3 hours and the group could understand everything. He definitely knows how to synthesise complex information and I really enjoyed his approachability and the freedom to ask any questions. Definitely worth it and if anyone is looking to visit the Dachau Memorial Center, or anything else in Munich, I would definitely go with Alun.

Alun was the perfect tour guide for Dachau. He was knowledgeable and provided many insights we would never have gotten otherwise. He had the right level of seriousness in consideration of the history of the site. He excelled at keeping us together and on track. And he knew all the little details which made the tour better, down to small things like knowing where to queue on the train platform to get to the site first among the many groups.

Alun was truly amazing the entire tour from guiding us with clear communication to the site as well as providing depth of historical facts as well as great questions and reflections on life and remambrance of those we lost and how we prevent something horrific like this from happening ever again. I learned so much and am so thankful for Alun's guidance through a tough yet important visit to this time and site in history.

I've been to Europe many times and took part in many guided tours. The tour of Dachau with Alun Evans was by far the best I've ever experienced. The subject matter was quite heavy, and Alun took the time to ensure we understood the background of the camp and that we appreciated the magnitude of what took place there. My family and I learned a great deal on this tour due to Alun's substantial knowledge. Alun also very nicely ensured our transportation to and from the camp. I will eagerly look for other of his offerings when I return someday.

This trip provides a vast amount of information on the 12 years that Dachau operated. Alun did a fantastic job balancing history and narrative during the trip while providing freedom to explore on your own. He also was very experienced navigating the bus and train system to make it as comfortable as possible. Well done Alun. I highly recommend.

Alun was a very good guide. He had the transportation organized and maneuvered our group well. By keeping the group small, he was easy to hear and interact with.

The guided experience allowed us a deeper insight to the Dachau camp including its origins and subsequent history. I have gained a new respect for the victims and their sufferings. I appreciate the openness of the German community to reveal to the public, the events that unfolded at the concentration camp. This was an eye opening and heartfelt experience.
