America's largest urban parks, located in downtown Vancouver.

The Canadian/Banff
Gaze at the glorious vistas passing outside your window en route
to the rail head at Jasper. Travel down the scenic Icefield Parkway
to Banff National Park with views of Athabasca Falls. The Athabasca
River cascades over a shelf of 570-million-year-old gog quartzite,
which was uncovered by glaciers as they receded at the end of the
last ice age to form the Falls. Keep an eye out for moose, elk and
other large wildlife. Find yourself surrounded by snowcapped peaks
and tree-filled alpine valleys as you arrive at the RIMROCK
RESORT.

Banff
Today, enjoy a brisk morning dogsled ride and warm drinks, then
the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy Banff. Want to get a
great snapshot? Catch a gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain to
see the vistas from the viewing platform and to visit the Weather
Observatory. Stay warm with a dip in the Banff Hot Springs, which
are just across the street from the hotel, or stay in and pamper
yourself with a Swedish massage at the hotel's in-house spa. Dinner
this evening is at the RIMROCK RESORT.

Banff to Lake Louise/Christmas Eve |
 |
| Enjoy a leisurely morning before you transfer to the lavish
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Originally built in 1890, this
posh resort has expanded several times to meet its growing number
of visitors. The scenery is a natural marvel, as the mountains
reflect in the cool blue water of the glacier-fed Lake Louise.
Ring in the holiday this evening with a Christmas Eve pageant,
followed by a Christmas Eve dinner at the FAIRMONT CHATEAU
LAKE LOUISE. |
