Itinerary
Day 1 D
Begin Jackson, Wyoming
A winter wonderland of snow, steaming geysers and abundant wildlife awaits. In Jackson Hole, gateway to the Grand Tetons, meet your fellow travelers at tonight's get-acquainted reception and dinner. WORT HOTEL

Day 2 BD
Elk Refuge/Jackson
This tour is ideal for shutterbugs looking for unusual photo opportunities, so be sure to have your camera this morning. A horse-drawn sleigh takes you into the 24,000-acre National Elk Refuge (established in 1912) to see herds of these grand creatures wander the ranges. Nearby, visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art, whose collection of artifacts dates from 2,000 B.C. to the present. Primary displays focus on 19th and 20th century wildlife paintings and photos including the Carl Rungius Collection. WORT HOTEL

Day 3 BLD
Yellowstone/Old Faithful Snow Lodge
Transfer to Flagg Ranch, where a snow coach takes you to Yellowstone National Park, home of Old Faithful Geyser and half of the world's geothermal features--a diverse collection of geysers, hot springs, mudpots, and fumaroles. OLD FAITHFUL SNOW LODGE

Day 4 BLD
Upper and Lower Geyser Basin
See Upper and Lower Geyser Basin, Firehole Falls, Firehole Cascades and the Fountain Paint Pot area. The geothermal heat of this area melts the snow and exposes winter grass, attracting elk, coyotes, bison and a wide variety of birds--including the rare trumpeter swan--so keep your cameras at hand. The remainder of your day is at leisure. You might want to spend your time sitting around the magnificent fireplace, set off on the Delacy cross-country ski trip, or enjoy the beautiful views of nearby Black Sand Basin, Observation Point and Fern Cascades. OLD FAITHFUL SNOW LODGE

Day 5 BLD
All Day Canyon Snow Coach Tour
Merry Christmas! Rise and shine early for an all-day canyon tour, a narrated sightseeing excursion around the "Lower Loop." The snow coach follows the road from Old Faithful through the Upper and Lower Geyser Basin to Madison Junction. Continue north along the Gibbons River through excellent elk and bison habitat. Lunch is a boxed picnic at the Canyon. The return trip continues around the Lower Loop, past Yellowstone Lake and West Thumb Geyser Basin. The coach makes additional stops as wildlife is sighted along the way. OLD FAITHFUL SNOW LODGE

Day 6 BLD
Jackson
This morning, return to Jackson by snow coach. The afternoon is free to pursue your own interests around town. Winter sports and activities abound, so enthusiasts might want to go snow boarding, snowshoeing or skiing. Rejoin your traveling companions this evening for a farewell dinner party. WORT HOTEL

Day 7 B
Conclude Jackson

Enjoy a final breakfast amidst nature's beauty before heading home. We thank you for joining us for your Yellowstone holiday. Back to Top
