Itinerary
Day 1

Depart U.S.A.
Depart on an overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany.

Day 2 D
Arrive Frankfurt

Arrive in Frankfurt and transfer to your hotel, located in the heart of the city near historic Main Square and Roemer’s Christmas Market. Find time this afternoon to stretch your legs and wander about the Market. Then, meet everyone tonight at the reception and dinner at the renowned

STEIGENBERGER FRANKFURTER HOF.

Day 3 BLD
Rothenburg

Join up with Germany’s famous Romantic Road en route to the country’s best-preserved medieval town, Rothenburg. The half-timbered houses, fortress walls and cobbled streets make you feel as though you are part of a Grimm’s fairy tale. This afternoon, a local guide will show you the town’s step-gabled houses, slim spires and ramparts dating from the Middle Ages. Stop at the Jakobskirche to see the intricately carved altar by the famous woodcarver, Tilman Riemanschneider, then visit the town’s charming Christmas Market. Your hotel fits perfectly in with the architecture and character of Rothenburg--the HOTEL EISENHUT.

Day 4 BD
Excursion to Nurnberg
The most famous of the German Christkindlmarkts (Christmas Markets) awaits you today in Nurnberg, locally known as the “little town of wood and canvas.” The festive market’s booths are filled with treasures and sparkling ornaments, while the fragrant aromas of gingerbread, sizzling sausages and mulled wine mingle in the air. On a sightseeing drive of the town, see the Kaiserberg Fortress and the famed Court Hall, where the Nurnberg trials were held after World War II. HOTEL EISENHUT

Day 5 BLD
Black Forest/Baden-Baden

Drive through the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) to the famous resort town of Baden-Baden. The town lies above hot springs that gave the spa its name, and the leisure class of the 19th century gathered here, the getaway of Europe’s royal families. This afternoon, hop aboard a horse-drawn sleigh for a fairytale ride through the forest (dependent on snow). If you wish, attend midnight Christmas Eve service nearby. SCHLOSSHOTEL BUHLERHOHE

Day 6 BLD
Excursion to Strasbourg, France/Christmas Day

Froehliche Weihnachten! A full-day excursion to Strasbourg, France is your special holiday treat. Strasbourg declares itself the Christmas capital of Europe and is considered the birthplace of the traditional Christmas tree. See the Cathedrale of Notre Dame, the Gothic “pinky-red angel hovering over the city.” Lunch today is at beautiful La Maison Kammerzell before you take a cruise through the winding channels of Strasbourg. Return to Baden-Baden late this afternoon. SCHLOSSHOTEL BUHLERHOHE

Day 7 BD
Heidelberg/Frankfurt

This morning, visit beautiful Heidelberg Castle, erected by Elector Ruprecht III in the 14th century as a royal residence. Continue to Frankfurt, where a farewell dinner awaits your holiday “family” at the KEMPINSKI HOTEL GRAVENBRUCH.

Day 8 B
Conclude Frankfurt

It is a short transfer to the Frankfurt airport for your return flight.
