Important Guidelines

Royal Caribbean ceremonies are designed to handle every detail so that your special day will be carefree. Please review the following information on booking a Royal Caribbean Royal Romance package.

Bridal couple must be sailing to hold a ceremony onboard a vessel and must book their cruise prior to booking their wedding package.

Wedding packages are available in Miami, Port Canaveral, Los Angeles, New York City, St. Thomas, and Vancouver.

Please book early. Due to the care we give to the details of each wedding, we are limited in the number of ceremonies we can coordinate on each ship.

Weddings are performed in Miami, Port Canaveral, Los Angeles, New York City, and Vancouver on embarkation day prior to sailing between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Legal ceremonies cannot be performed while at sea. All weddings and ceremony extras must be booked and paid for thirty (30) days prior to sailing. No changes permitted after thirty (30) days. Wedding ceremonies will be performed by a state approved officiant. You may also provide your own officiant to perform your ceremony.

The bridal couple is responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license. A list of marriage license requirements and fees is attached. Royal Caribbean can assist in obtaining your marriage license through the mail in some ports.

Royal Caribbean strongly recommends that the bridal party arrive at least one day prior to sailing to avoid late flights, traffic, etc. on their wedding day. It is the couple's responsibility that they and their guests arrive at the wedding ceremony on time. Royal Caribbean offers a Day Prior Program for guests arriving the day before embarkation. This program includes hotel accommodations, tax, porterage, transfers (if guests are air/sea) and cruise check in at the hotel. Please see your travel agent for more details.

Wedding Booking

Our Royal Romance Wedding Coordinators will work with you to create the perfect wedding to fit your needs. Once your Royal Caribbean cruise has been booked, the coordinator will be able to reserve your special wedding day. Weddings and ceremony extras may be booked up to thirty (30) days prior to sailing, based on availability. Full payment is due for weddings at the time of booking.

Options from the Wedding and Vow Renewal Extras section must be booked as soon as possible due to the limited availability of some services. All options must be paid for in full at time of booking. All Royal Romance packages must be paid by credit card or agency check. Personal checks will not be accepted. Due to limited space, ceremonies cannot be held without payment for more than 72 hours. If no payment has been received, your booking will automatically cancel.

Please be advised that in the event of strikes, lockouts, riots, weather conditions, mechanical difficulties or for any reason whatsoever, Royal Caribbean may at any time and without notice cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any schedules sailing or port of call. Royal Caribbean shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever incurred by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, or deviation.

Royal Caribbean will send a Royal Romance Confirmation form to the bridal couple prior to sailing. Please read the confirmation including guidelines very carefully, sign the document and return it to Royal Caribbean no later than 2 weeks prior to sailing.

Please refer to Royal Caribbean's brochure and cruise ticket contract for additional terms and conditions regarding your vacation with Royal Caribbean.

Due to availability, Royal Caribbean reserves the right to substitute items of equal or greater value.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

Sailing With a Group

A bridal couple sailing with a group of 16 or more guests will book their pre and post hotel package, cruise package and other amenity arrangements which take place during the cruise, with the Group Department. All payments for these arrangements are processed through your Travel Agent. All wedding arrangements including receptions, and payments will be handled through your Royal Romance Wedding Coordinator once your cruise has been booked.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund of wedding or wedding extras, notice of cancellation must be received in writing at Royal Caribbean's offices no later than sixty (60) days prior to sailing date. (No refunds will be made for cancellations less than sixty (60) days prior to sailing date.)

Wedding Locations

Royal Caribbean vessels offer a number of wedding locations. The most romantic location onboard our vessels is the library which offers an intimate setting for your ceremony. Locations vary on each ship.

Ceremony times and locations are assigned according to the requirements of each wedding. Locations will not be confirmed until thirty (30) days prior to sailing. Assignments are made solely at Royal Caribbean's discretion.

Wedding Guests

Royal Caribbean will allow up to 10 non-sailing guests to attend a wedding ceremony at no additional charge. You simply provide your Royal Romance Wedding Coordinator with your complete guest list. A final guest list is required no later than thirty (30) days prior to your wedding date. Changes will not be allowed after this date. If a reception is booked on the ship, additional guests may be allowed to attend the ceremony and reception. Please see the Catering Section for more details.

Guests will be authorized to board the vessel between 12:00 noon and 3:30 p.m. Guests must present picture identification, such as a state driver's license. They must check in at the terminal Security Desk. All non-sailing guests must disembark the vessel no later than 4:00 p.m.

Priority Check In

The bride and groom will be greeted by a Ground Service Representative at the check in counter. All sailing guests must have their embarkation paperwork completed in their ticket books before arriving at the terminal. A Ground Services Representative will escort only the bridal couple on the ship. Bridal couples will be permitted to board the ship as soon as U.S. Customs clears the ship, which is usually between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

Up to 10 sailing guests will receive special priority check in. Names and cabin numbers must be submitted thirty (30) days prior to sailing. No escort is provided for sailing guests.

Note: It is extremely important that the wedding party hand carry onboard all items to be used in the ceremony, such as tuxedos, wedding dress, shoes, jewelry, etc. as the luggage may not arrive until later in the afternoon and not in time to be used for the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Royal Caribbean has prepared a beautiful wedding ceremony for your special day. Vows have been written to commemorate your unique wedding experience, but if you choose to write your own vows, we request that they be sent to Royal Caribbean at least thirty (30) days prior to sailing. Ceremonies last approximately 15 minutes. Your wedding ceremony will be performed in English by a state approved officiant. Other languages or religious officiants may be requested at an additional cost of $250.00, based on availability. The ship's captain will not be performing ceremonies.

Getting married is one of life's greatest joys. Royal Caribbean has the perfect wedding package for you. In Miami, a 6.5% and in Port Canaveral a 6% sales tax will be added to the following package prices.

The above rates are presented as a guideline only.
