Self-Guided Smartphone Ghost Walking Tour in Salem

The WalknTours app was easy to use, easy instructions to get the tour downloaded. The tour itself was accurate and well done. Price was right. Would definitely do another one.

This was the highlight of our stay in Salem. There are really two Salems. one is a commercial glitzy shops and such and the other is the actual history of the town. This walking tour left us feeling we understood the when and some of the why's of what happened here. Well worth the price

The self guided tour was great! Since you go at your own pace and listen to it with earbuds/airpods you can hear everything it tells you in the tour. Much better than a huge group with a tour guide that either talks too fast or not loud enough for the entire group to hear. It also gives you time to get to the next stop before it starts telling you about it. I would definitely do this again on another trip. Definitely recommend!

I definitely recommend buying this. Went at our own pace and it was informative! We were able to pause easily and return to right where we left off. Worth the money for sure.

Skip the stuffy, crowded tours. These walking tours give you a chance to see what the town has to offer and out-of the-way places that you can go back to later. These walking tours narration, music and navigation ensures you enjoy the tour and don’t get lost. Our paranormal activity meter (included!) indicated ghosts in a shop up the block from the Bewitched statue.

You need to start at the beginning of the tour. We had to backtrack to get back on the right track. Very cute tour...on a full moon to boot!

We were looking to do a ghost tour but most of them seemed to be 2 hours. My husband needs knee surgery so standing that long is a challenge. This tour was exactly what we needed. We could move at our own pace, sit when we needed to, and ever stop for lunch. This was our third stopover to Salem and this tour had us seeing new things and learning some fun history. The directions were perfect.

I was genuinely impressed with the quality and content. The self-paced nature of the tour made it easy to take in additional details at various stops or to take the occasional coffee/snack/shopping break, and the GPS function of the app worked very well to keep the tour audio progressing based on our location. Definitely worth the few dollars it cost.

I went on the Salem walking tour when I was visiting there in August 2025! It was great! I did it with my best friend and we loved being able to learn more about Salem and the history. Also love that they give you directions on where to walk very clearly without interrupting the experience.
