Walking Guided tour in Udaipur

We had such a fantastic afternoon with Mahendra. What a brilliant guide! His passion for his city and the Hindu faith really shone though - we learnt so much. We felt very comfortable, well looked after and he gave some excellent recommendations. He was the highlight of our trip so far. Thank you.

We did a walking tour of Udaipur city and the palace with Mahendra. He was on-time with pickup, had great historical knowledge of the city, and recommended a great art shop for my partner and I to look for souvenirs. Mahendra was easy to listen to and easy to get along with.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Mahendra, he was punctual, charming g and very knowledgeable. We particularly enjoyed having him guide us around the city palace, which would have been very overwhelming without his experience.

I did a solo walking tour with Raj and he was fantastic. He not only told you the history but showed you the history through paintings and pieces throughout the places we had visited. Raj did a fantastic job with recommendations for food, the sunset, and even helped me get a ticket for the dance show before we ended our tour. I will be recommending Raj and this tour to all of my colleagues who visit Udaipur.

Despite a rainy day in Udaipur this was a super waking tour! Yogendra was insightful, friendly and a super first welcome to the city! He also passed on wonderful recommendations of restaurants and other things to see once our tour had completed!

Mahendra was our knowledgeable and patient guide. He was very generous with his time, spoke calmly and walked at a relaxed pace, accommodating my husband's mobility issues. At my request, he helped us with shopping by taking us to an art co-op and a stunning textile store in a restored Haveli. Communication was excellent both before, during and after our tour. Highly recommend.

Our guide, Yogendra messaged us several times to confirm booking and to coordinate meeting on the morning of our tour. This is was very reassuring. We walked on a rather hot day so he was always pointing out places to get a drink. We took plenty of water with us anyway. Yogendra had a great knowledge of the history of the city from when it was founded, the creation of the lakes and the big palaces and the culture and religion of the area. He also had lots of little bits of information about the architecture and history of many small buildings that you could easily walk past without noticing. The roads we walked were narrow and busy with traffic but it can’t move very quickly. We soon learnt to just keep walking and it avoids you! Our tour started at 9am and we were back at our hotel by 2pm. We were given the opportunity to use a Tuktuk to shorten the route from our hotel but it was a walking tour and we chose to walk. It gave more time to chat. The Grand Palace had an extra entry fee but if you are over 60 years take ID and get in half price! We took our tour in English but he is also fluent in German and has travelled widely in Germany.

We really enjoyed our time with our guide Yogendra. He is very knowledgeable and interesting and took us to visit places we would never have otherwise gone.
