Murano and Burano are adorable little islands definitely worth visiting. In Murano, the primary focus was the glass blowing factory and its high end retail store. There was little time to actually explore Murano’s streets and discover its charm (the reason for 4 stars and not 5). Our time in Burano, known for its lacemaking, was much less structured and allowed us to wander and revel in its quaint beauty. Our guide Christina was very knowledgeable and lovely. This excursion also serves as a boat tour of Venice’s many islands, their history, and the day to day life of Venetians.

Our guide, Alessandra was wonderful. She was warm, super friendly, and filled our day trip with interesting factoids about the sites we passed and the islands we visited. She gave us great recommendations about where to eat in Burano (which was a beautiful destination) and invited anyone to go off on their own if they weren’t interested in the tutorial parts of the tour. She also allowed for time on the return trip home to chat with everyone and answer any questions that anyone in the group dreamt up. The private boat we took to the islands was very comfortable for our group, and was sheltered from any rain drops. I’d highly recommend this trip.

Silvia was very knowledgeable about Venice. We enjoyed the informative tour of Murano and Burano. We saw the masters at work in glassmaking and lacemaking.

Karrie, speaks great English, she loves her job, and her area very much. She was easy to listen to, gave good mix of facts and free time. Best way to see both charming islands in a short amount of time. Well worth it.

Emmanuella provided an educational and entertaining excursion. The excursion started with a chartered boat ride to Murano to learn about the glass blowing process and admiring the artistic work of the Murano glass crafters - just amazing. Then is was on to Burano to learn about lace crafting - another amazing visit. All along the way, Emmanuella provided information about the islands in the lagoon, the lagoon itsself and Venice. She has a charming sense of humor which kept us attentive and entertained throughout the tour.

We had a great time on our Murano/Burano island tours. Our tour guide, Silvia, was very knowledgeable about the area and we could tell she really has a passion for the history. We learned so much and have a much better appreciation for the Venice area! She also gave us some great recommendations for places to eat in Venice. We got lucky in that our tour was not fully booked so we were able to get a little more time on the islands and the tour felt a bit more private. We also got a pretty good tour of the lagoon from the water taxi as it took a route to the islands and a different route on the way back. The glass making in Murano is truly an artform and a must see. Burano's scenic houses and sleepy community were a beautiful sight to take in. Excellent experience!

Five hour trip from start to finish traveling 30 mins from Venice to Murano and then Burano. The glass making demonstration at Murano was very interesting with a glass shop to explore afterwards. Then 30 min boat ride to Burano to watch a short lace demonstration that had a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants to explore.
