Bruges Day Trip: Amsterdam's Exclusive Fairytale Escape

Lovely town and the walking tour was great! Bruge is beautiful and we were able to cover most of the town in the time allowed.

Arrangements are comfortable, ratio of guided to free time is good (cos this is really a place to wander and soak in). I wish the guide was a little better at English (i understood about half what was spoken) & didn't find the information imparted too interesting - a better script will help. A very convenient way to see Bruges on your own. Highly recommend.

The bus ride from Amsterdam to Brugge may appear long; however, it is much faster than the train over the same distance. The ride was comfortable; the guides were friendly. As I speak Dutch, I opted not to take part in the organized tour of Brugge; instead, I explored the city on my own. I had never seen so many vendors of fine chocolate in my life as I did there. Even Belgian gas stations sell higher quality chocolate than high end general retailers in Toronto!

Our guide Bianca went an extra mile to help passengers. She was patient when two passengers were demanding. She is also knowledgeable and 👍 nice. However the coach duration of about 7 hours make travelling quite uncomfortable.

This was an amazing experience and one which we very much enjoyed. Only issue would have been the guide. I'm sure the information he gave was rich in history, at least the parts I heard were. With so many people around, we missed so much. Many other groups had earphones so they could hear the commentary.

This review comes with mixed feelings. The location itself was beautiful 😍 Our tour bus was late and our guide started the morning off by removing a couple from the bus as he said we they had overbooked (and he did not want to sit up with the driver, hence taking up a double seat himself) He did however spend most of the drive sitting in the seat (he didn't want to sit in) working on his photos and left the "seat" he said he needed empty. It was also very noticeable that he preferred the Spanish speaking group over the English speaking side of the group. We did four tours in Amsterdam with four operators (and this operator the worst of the bunch) If you are just looking for the transportation to Bruges, than go for it. If you actually want to take the tour of the city with your guide, then do yourself a favor and choose another operator. We ended up ditching the tour group of the city and exploring ourselves (and we were so glad we did)

Very long bus ride in an uncomfortable bus; 7 + hours in a bus with no armrests and limited leg room. The guide, Adrian, and the driver, Tony, spent a lot of time joking back and forth while ignoring the passengers. At one point they exchanged homophobic slurs in Spanish including using the “maricones” slur and other vulgar words. Not professional behavior at all. As a member of the LGBT community, listening to this insulting language's was not what I signed up for.

The bus ride is about 3.5 hours each way. Knowledgeable guide, but disappointed that viewing of Michaelangelo's "Madonna and Child" at Church of our Lady was not included.
