I’m 62 and honestly, this hike was a little tough for me—but so worth it! The trail is steep and a bit challenging, but our guide Vick was absolutely incredible. He was patient, encouraging, and made sure I felt safe the whole way up. Thanks to his support, I made it to the top and the view was breathtaking—truly one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. It felt like such an accomplishment, and I couldn’t have done it without his guidance. If you’re thinking about doing this hike, don’t let age or doubts stop you. Go for it! Just take your time and trust your guide. Highly recommend this experience! ---

Early morning. It very cool. The top has a nice seating area! Hike is steep but doable. Definitely easier with a group because you take lots of breaks. We did have to get a private boat from Pana to the meeting point which was kind of annoying but our fault!

We came in from Sana Cruz so the tour operators scheduled a 330am boat pick up from our house. Communication was great and Captain was exactly on time. Driver picked us up from the dock and we were on our way to the trail. Probably a 30 minute car ride to trailhead. Two guides accompanied us-Victor and Jeffrey. We had people in our group who found the hike very strenuous so Jeffrey stayed back with us while Victor went on with the rest of the group. Jeffrey made sure we were okay while also managing the schedule to get us there in time for sunrise. More people than expected-over 100-what an incredible view! They served tea, coffee and hot chocolate at the top. Bring a light jacket or sweatshirt if you are cold natured. Highly highly highly recommend this tour company!

Amazing views once you get to the top! The problem is getting to the top LOL! We were picked up at 4AM which is way too early for me when on vacation but I wanted to give the tour a try. If the guides are behind schedule in any way do not be surprised if you are rushed a little. Sunrise doesn't wait for delays! Hiking up the hill is a challenge but manageable - it's just not fun so early in the morning. There are a lot of tours going up and on the top - I would say at least a 100 but there's plenty of space. In my pictures there's a little puff of smoke which is the volcano erupting. I liked our guide as he really made sure we were very comfortable. I highly recommend doing this tour!

Convenient pickup and drop off right from our hotel in San Pedro. about 30min drive to base of mountain and about 30-45min steep hike up to the top. Beautiful panoramic view of the lake. We did not have great viewing weather of the sunrise because of the clouds BUT still worth the trip!! Our guide was kind and informative. Would recommend this excursion!!

Had a really awesome experience on this hike. We were slower than the rest of our group and our guide stayed with us and walked at our slower pace, telling us interesting history along the way. The view is really lovely!

Amazing experience! Victor was an awesome guide and managed the different paces of the people in our group very well. It was a tough hike but definitely the highlight of our trip to Guatemala! The sunrise was beautiful and I highly recommend this experience.

The view is really stunning and I am glad I did the hike! However, there was very little breaks and when one, not long enough to fully rest before going again. My guess is that the guide didn't want us to miss the sunrise, but the hike was really challenging for that matter. The hot chocolate and the pastries at the top really did make up for it tho!

The views were amazing and our guide did a good job adding to the experience. The hike is steep but manageable. They brought us coffee at the top!

Fantastic! But that last 400meters is NO JOKE! When Vick said it was very hard, he was telling the Truth! Everything about it was WORTH IT!!
