Groups of 12 are large. You are very much at mercy of who is in your group. We had several people who were not physically cut out for the walking portions and were generally insufferable with their side commentary. This really dampened the expierence but your mileage may vary. Guides were knowledgeable. Lots of driving. If you are in somewhat shape none of the walking or trails should be a problem.

Loved this experience! Juan Carlos and Diego were fantastic—knowledgeable, kind, and clearly proud of their country. We learned about the region’s history and biodiversity, met the Maleku tribe, wandered through the rainforest, and tasted delicious local dishes. A truly memorable tour. Highly recommend!

Errol was a great guide with good energy. He was very knowledgeable on the history of the volcano and wildlife. This tour allows you to see and experience a good variety of activities in just one day.

This was a great trip! The guides were very fun and knowledgeable. We saw lots of wildlife to top off the day! They give the option to be dropped back off at your hotel if you have hot springs available there and aren’t interested in going to the public hot springs, which we appreciated!

Awesome tour - Rasta and Carlos were great. Highly recommend! We hit all of the major sports and everything flowed very easily together.

Awesome experience. Guide was very knowledgeable and super friendly. He even gave us some of his breakfast so we could taste typical Costarican breakfast.

I did this tour while travelling solo and without a car, and it was a really convenient way to see several of La Fortuna’s highlights in one day. The tour included all admission fees. We started with a guided hike around the Arenal Volcano area. Our guide was knowledgeable and pointed out wildlife along the way. The hike ends at a viewpoint of Arenal Volcano, unfortunately the clouds didn’t cooperate for us, but the area is still beautiful and worth visiting. After a quick fruit snack, we continued on to La Fortuna Waterfall. Lunch was served at a restaurant on site of the waterfall before the waterfall visit, and there was time to walk through a small butterfly house before taking a tractor ride up to the start of the trail. The walk down to the waterfall is a series of stairs. We stopped just before the falls, where a guide stayed with our belongings while we went for a swim, highly recommend bringing water shoes as the access to the swimming is over slippy rocks. The climb back up is doable, but there are a lot of steps, so take your time if you’re not used to hiking. The final stop of the day was the hot springs, where we had just over an hour to relax. You’re welcome to stay longer with the ticket, but you’ll need to arrange your own ride back to town if you do. Overall, it was a great full-day tour. The guides were friendly, the activities were well organised, and the group was split into English and Spanish speakers for the volcano hike, which made it easy to follow along. A good option if you want to see a lot in a single day without having to sort out transportation.

This was an excellent experience. We started at La Fortuna River, visited a small village of native Costa Ricans, had lunch, and then went on the Arenal Volcano hike. The hike was enjoyable and a good workout. We skipped the hot springs since our hotel had its own and it was Sunday, so we preferred to avoid crowds. Our guide, Cris MQ, was outstanding. He was polite, knowledgeable, and explained local plants and reptiles in a way that made the tour very interesting. He also recommended a local restaurant that we tried later, and it was great. Overall, this is a must-do tour if you are visiting La Fortuna for the first time. It gives you culture, nature, and a full day of learning and exploration.

We had an amazing day, though a bit of a rough start when we weren’t picked up at the designated hotel. However a gentleman picked us up and we met up with the tour bus. From then on, it was super. Chris, Brian and Melanie were our guides and we had a lovely day.
