Mumbai is famous across India for its outstanding street food, but discovering the best hygienic eateries in a big city is not easy. To start your food trail, visit Mumbai’s most famous beach, Chowpatty, where you'll try an array of Mumbai’s best vegetarian street food while watching the sunset. Taste classics such as Pani Puri, Dahi Puri, & Pav Bhaji. Next, take a taxi to Bhuleshwar a Gujarati & Rajasthani area with local specialties such as Kesari ukala (saffron milk), kachori/sabudana wada, pudla & masala dosa. Walk through its busy streets known as khao gallis-(eating lanes). Finally, walk into the Mohommad Ali Road area. In this predominantly Muslim neighborhood, get immersed in local culture and the food. Here in the khao gallis you will find mainly non-vegetarian options such as Chicken kebabs, Chicken rolls, and Baida rotis. And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten those of you with a sweet tooth (and with space in your stomach)! We’ll eat Rabdi with Gulab Jamun, Jalebi and Kulfi.

I love this company (Reality Tours and Travel) and their staff and their tours. Our guide Rishi was so nice, so warm, so caring. He took us all over the city exploring and we tried 12+ different foods. It was an A+ experience. I LOVED it!!

This was a well organised tour with great opportunities to sample some great Mumbai street food. Javed was a v pleasant and well informed guide. He even helped us to get a taxi home after the tour.

Javed was a brilliant tour guide. He was knowledgeable about everything we asked (and there were lots of questions on the food, culture and history of the city). The food was all great - it was an excellent way to experience Mumbai.

I did the Mumbai street food tour and it was amazing. Not only did we get to travel around Mumbai and eat amazing food, our tour guide Javed, educated us on the history and culture of the city. The food experience itself was really well thought out and executed. I felt good about supporting a great company that gives back to the community. Highly recommend.

So glad that we chose to go on this tour. Rishi knew exactly where to go, and introduced us to a dozen different things that we never would have known to try. Bring your appetite and an empty stomach. By the time the tour was done, we were more than sated, and happily rolled back to our hotel.

We tasted the most delicious and diverse street food on the Mumbai Street Food Tour. Our guide Rajesh was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and showed us the sights as well as dishes we wouldn't have tried but definitely would again. My favourite was the baida roti and my wife's was the pav bhaji. There was a good selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes alongside some sweet treats. Raj was a really attentive guide and clearly knew the vendors and the street food scene really well. He also helped us navigate the crazy busyness of the city and we felt really safe. This is incredible value for money for the amount of food you get. Come hungry!
