The weather was lousy but the driver (Marina) was good and careful. The two vineyards we visited had very knowledgeable and dynamic hosts, the wines we tasted were diverse and very good - I am looking forward to drinking more Portuguese red wine when I get home!

The Douro was lovely and host Jorge was exceptional. He picked us up directly from our accommodation and dropped us off at the end of the day. He answered all our questions was informative and engaging. The Douro is beautiful and the 1.5 hour drive gets you to the heart of it. Some disappointing elements were both vineyards . At QUINTA DO VAL MOREIRA the wine host was not very good. Having done a few wine visits this year it was poor by comparison - litttle info on the wine ; she was dismissive and the wines esp the red wasn’t great to taste . Few snacks to accompany the drinks and no info on how to experience the wine at its best. At Quinta Di portal the second visit this was a case of the end of day - let’s get this done and you out of here. It was rushed ; info delivered in monotone way without any pause and drinks had on the move. It was in a huge concrete bunker that echoed. No engagement from any of our group. Telling over both visits none of 8 guests bought any wines after. Lastly the boat trip was nice but no service on boat or guide to explain what you were seeing and experiencing. School report said “could do better”

just now New We had an excellent experience with a small group on a day-long tour to Duoro Valley. They kindly offered service to pick us up at the Airbnb we were staying at. Pedro was a wonderful guide--enthusiastic, engaging, and knowledgeable. We had a lovely drive to the Duoro Valley, delicious food, and astounding wine and port tastings. It was a great time meeting other travelers and learning about the rich history surrounding wine and this region of Portugal. Would absolutely recommend a tour with Pedro and Oporto Road Trips.

Great trip with nice small group to see two wineries, river trip plus good lunch with all you could eat. Also made a few other short stops for optional breakfast and short walk over bridge, along with roadside stop of a great view. Our guide, Joanna, was very knowledgeable and entertaining along with great English.

Great trip from start to finish. We loved Ricardo our guide and his tour was very well organised with some great stops for wine and port tasting and a little stop at the bakery thrown in - Highly recommend this trip. Last port tasting spot could have been perfect if there was some cheese and crackers with it!

A great day in the Duoro Valley. Our guide was wonderful - enthusiastic and informative. Both wineries visited were unique, smaller producers. Tastings were informative and fun. Lunch was delicious served family style and accompanied by wine. The boat ride on the river was beautiful and the perfect length of time. The tour was easy to book and communication was excellent.

We had a fantastic day from start to finish. Our guide Henrique was an excellent. He was very knowledgeable, attentive and ensured that we were all very comfortable for the duration of the tour. Our guides in the Douro Valley were also very knowledgeable, friendly and interesting. We enjoyed tasting the beautiful ports and the inclusive lunch of traditional Portuguese foods. The cruise was beautiful. We would highly recommend this tour for a great day out!

- Douro Valley's temperature is very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Thus, light clothes in summer and warm clothes in the winter are recommended;
- Weather Note: All of our activities happen in covered and protected spaces - we guarantee a safe and comfortable tour despite any weather conditions.
- Not recommended for children - if you are bringing children, please inform us in advance, as car seating is mandatory by Portuguese law.
- You can also be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto downtown area/city center only (Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos cities are outside pick-up limits).
- If your address is outside pick-up limits or in an area of difficult access (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume) we will set a meeting point a few minutes away so that you can board our van.
- NOTE TO TRAVEL AGENCIES: While we understand that your office may be closed when we send our confirmations due to different timezones if you do not provide the client's direct contact number/email, you are responsible for contacting the client at the time we send the pick-up details (day before the tour takes place, by the end of the day, UNTIL 23:00 PM, PORTUGAL TIME) - Travel Agencies assume responsibility if the client does not show up due to the lack of communication between them.
