Private Petra & Wadi Rum: Jordan's Breathtaking Wonders

Alaa Alyassen is absolutely amazing! Not only is he an excellent and very safe driver, but he is also a friendly, attentive, and professional tour guide. During our tour we faced heavy rain and fog, and Alaa handled everything with total confidence and care, making us feel safe at all times. He was incredibly helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. Petra and Wadi Rum are simply breathtaking. Truly once in a lifetime destinations and having Alaa as my guide made the experience even more special. I highly recommend booking a private tour with him. You won’t regret it!

If you have a chance to ask for someone, ask for Mahmuod Awad. He was so kind, had a wealth of knowledge on anything we asked, and gave us time to explore. We never felt rushed and the ride was comfortable, safe, and clean. We saw an unfortunate accident between a huge truck and car happen behind us on the way to Petra. Not only did Mahmuod Awad ask if we could stop, which we absolutely said yes, but he ran to the car to make sure everyone was alive. He called the police for help and they arrived really quick. Everyone was alive and got out safe with a few scratches. Petra was great! Be careful for the Bedouins who sell items in Petra. They will tell you they are honest and ask you for a price, give you a “gift” and say they are single mother’s. They sound kind but the items are not worth what they are asking. If you are buying it with US dollars, it cost more. I bought something that was 170JD and it was $240 in US. For what I got, wasn’t worth it and I returned it. They’re not aggressive or hostile, but they guilt you and will tell you all types of things just to buy something. It’s better to buy what you want at the airport. We didn’t get to go to Wadi Rum unfortunately but we were compensated. Overall, great experience with Mahmuod Awad!!

We used Jordan Horizon tours for a week in Jordan. We found them to be very professional. They had an attention to detail with every aspect of the trip. They were very flexible and accommodating to changes in the itinerary. I can’t say enough how pleased we were with this company. We were so incredibly lucky to have Kamal as our guide. He was truly the best guide in our estimation. Funny, personable, kind, caring and always wanting to make sure were happy with everything. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention Saduc our driver. He was always on time and was very personable. Our trip was great because of these two men. I highly recommend them both and I would ask specifically for them the next time we use Jordan Tours.

Petra is INCREDIBLE! I only went for The Treasury (the building you see in most pictures). But even the walk from the entrance to The Treasury itself was spectacular. The rock formations are all stunning and many resemble Antelope Canyon in Phoenix. My group's driver was Saada, who was *very* accommodating. Our group got on so well that we decided to have dinner together afterwards. Saada recommended a restaurant and took us there. But he went the extra mile and came in to speak to the manager to ensure we were taken care of. Thank you for taking good care of us Saada, we appreciate you.

Tareq — aka Columbia — has been an amazing guide and driver! He’s funny, super easy to talk to, and made the whole journey really comfortable (the car even had WiFi!). He also helped us take some amazing photos along the way. Inside Petra, we hired a local guide named Ammar for a short horseback ride. He brought us up to the top of Petra for an incredible viewpoint and took tons of great photos for us. Later, we did a two-hour jeep ride in Wadi Rum — I thought it would feel long, but it honestly flew by. 100% recommend this tour and Tareq to anyone looking to do a same-day Petra trip from Amman!

I had a one-day tour with Tariq Colombia, and it was really amazing -it was even better than my expectations. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Tariq waited with no problem, drove through Petra and Wadi Rum, and was always very friendly. He provided water, internet, and offered different options for the trip with very good advice. I really enjoyed the day and truly recommend tour to everyone

Although was scammed to take guides inside Petra, and the guide and her agent basically robbed us, just to walk till Treasury, even when we were given atleast 3hrs inside Petra; I am still giving 4/5 just becuase of the driver assigned. He was a gem of a guy, and according to him, he wasnt aware of the above scam, and knowing it, he did his best to make the rest of the day better. Kudos to the guy, thus a 4. Otherwise, please dont scam tourists on forcing guides. These trips are already booked with high prices, let us atleat enjoy the day, and make the money worth
