Wild Akamas: Paphos Jeep Safari to Breathtaking Avakas Gorge

The trip was great, we would never have visited half of the places we got to in the Jeep. Our guide Bamboss was great, he said his english was not very good, but we felt he was excellent and great at giving us the history and background of the places we visited. The Jeep was filled with like minded people all out to enjoy the day and honestly I would have joined the other tour with the same company if I had the time on my trip. Ones for next time when we have more than one day to fit these things in. The price of the tour was more than fair given the amount of driving that we had to do to visit the sites. I would not have dreamt of driving on some of the roads we had to use, but the whole trip was amazing. Communication from the operator was excellent and we were updated leading right up to pick up. We had no expectation about this tour but it was so amazing. We were a small group, just us and another couple. Our guide Bambos was amazing, he showed us so many things which were not planned. It was truly amazing.

It was a fun trip, mixed local experiences and amazing sight seeing. We were 4 people in total due to the low season and Pambos is a wonderful guide!

We enjoyed our Jeep safari today with Bambos. Despite not visiting the Akamas Gorge due to rockfall from yesterday's stormy weather, there was plenty of time for coffee and comfort stops. There was also time to see other places of interest. There was time for lunch at Latchi, but it was getting quite late (15:00 we arrived), so we decided to forego lunch in order to get back to the hotel in good time (16:45). Bambos is a good guide who is knowledgeable about the places we visited. His jeep driving skills are exemplary despite the terrain being very rough in some areas of the Akamas peninsula. I'd recommend sitting in the front-facing seat if you don't fancy having your bones rattled too much at the back.

Mario out driver was a hoot! Lively personality and very affable Excellent decision to take us to the Avankas gorge first...cool...Cyprus have superb but unusually warm temps week we were there...and only 4 other people there..as we walked back to the jeep hoards of people were heading to the gorge! Enjoyed a coffee over looking stunning turtle beach, much needed ice cream by the sea in Latchi, and as it was too choppy to swim...only 2 people out of 8 wanted to anyway..Mario suggested going to a winery instead.... SUPER suggestion....real bonus Finished off by caves and the famous ship wreck...cave scenery beautiful... Only thing I wouldn't bother with is Aphrodite's grotto....just tourist trap We all had a really enjoyable, fun, rewarding day....highly recommend it! Plus Mario picked us up from our hotel although it wasn't in the pick up list...much appreciated

A fully packed day with lots of information. A good trip to see parts of the Pahos area not easily accesible by public transport. Our guide, Mario, was a native Cypriot who was very knowledgable. Lots of stops, no feelings of being rushed, plenty of toilets too. Would highly reccomend.

Amazing full day trip out. Our tour guide was Mario he was superb and really made an effort to accommodate our whole groups needs and even tweaked the itinerary to suit us :) Great fun good laugh visited some amazing places would definitely recommend.

We spent a great day exploring a part of Cyprus with Mario. He made sure we had all the needed information and adjusted our schedule to avoid crowds at popular places.

This was the best activity on our trip to Cyprus! Mario was our guide and he was the best - really friendly and chatty, he had all the information we needed about the sights, and life in Cyprus. He was flexible with how long we spent at each stop and what order we did them in, to make sure everyone had a good time. The sea swimming stop in particular was amazing, and we loved seeing the mountain villages from the jeep. We even stopped to try a carab from a tree, which was delicious.

The jeep ride is over rough terrain and this off-roading allows you to see and hike in the beautiful Akama national park, see vineyards, carob and olive plantations, and even a tiny 12th century church which not many tourists get to see. This would have been impossible with a regular rented car. We also got to swim in the mediterranean for a full hour after seeing Aphrodite's baths and then had a delicious fish lunch in Latsi. The day concluded by seeing the Edro III Shipwreck and sea caves. Worth every cent, and our tour guide was very friendly and engaging.
