Uncork Porto: 3-Hour Foodie & Wine Tasting Adventure

What an unexpected treat experiencing this exploring & tasting tour of the city! I started the tour with João shortly after checking into my hotel, and immediately felt as if I was tapping into the soul of the city. When we entered each of the businesses, we were greeted warmly and it was clear that João knew everyone. Most importantly, we were expected which illustrated the planning by both the guide and his company Bluedragon City Tours! The tour stops were just as described, and in the perfect order for that day. João led the tour at the perfect pace with a balance of historical facts, architectural highlights, and of course, information about the foods and flavors. We sampled pastries, soup, the famous Francesinha sandwich, cheeses, preserves and more. The tastings were a perfect sampling experience. I realized the next day what comfort I felt navigating the city center based on this tour. I even returned to some of the businesses to say hello and make purchases. Than you João and Bluedragon for this great tour!

I enjoyed this a lot! The food was good and it was a nice as I entered Porto. The guide also asked for more when places didn’t give much in the way of snacks or drinks, which I was impressed by as that can be difficult. Thank you Igor!

Igor the tour guide was amazing, very helpful and knowlegable. I think for the price, the food could have been better and especially the "dinner". Overall, would not do it again. Not as described. Went to liquor place, restaurant and bar at the end where we had disappointing food.

The Porto Food & Wine Tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the very first stop, the tour blended culture, history, and gastronomy in the most enjoyable way. Our guide Beatriz was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and passionate about the city — sharing stories that made each tasting come alive. We explored charming local spots that we would have never found on our own: traditional bakeries, family-run taverns, and authentic restaurants serving incredible regional dishes. Each tasting was delicious, generous, and perfectly paired with local wines. The port wine tasting was exceptional — a great mix of classic varieties and boutique producers. What I loved most was the relaxed pace and the genuine feeling of experiencing Porto like a local. It wasn’t just a food tour, but a cultural journey through the city’s traditions and flavours. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto. Come hungry, be curious, and you will leave absolutely delighted!

Beatriz was wonderful! She was so sweet, personable, engaging and knowledgeable. Her passion for food was palpable. At the end of the tour, she asked for suggestions. I mentioned perhaps switching the order of the dishes. She was very receptive and thanked me. She even waited with me for my Uber!

We can visit local restaurants and serve food and wind. It was a great experience learn a lot about the city, culture, food and sprite. Tour guide Maria was charming. It was a joyful time in Porto.

What a authentic, genuinely interesting tour. Not only did we get to try some very delicious local dishes and great beverages, but our tour guide Fatima made the experience from good to amazing. She has a clear passion for the city and it's history and was the absolute best host. We cannot thank her enough for the introduction to our new favourite city. Obrigada!!

Maria Maio was Amazing!!!! She was completely engaged, funny, spunky, knowledgable and very interactive. She made this tour something we will never forget. The local places she took us could not have been any more welcoming and tasty! Would do it over again with Maria Maio. !!!

Jose was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the city and the local culinarily culture. He did a wonderful job bonding our group together for an enjoyable evening. The stops were varied and interesting but, we think it may be best not to book a food tour on Sunday as several of their favorite restaurants are closed. Jose had a lot knowlege about the city in general and we learned a lot on this tour. We would definitely recommend any tour with Jose!

This tour was amazing and Maria is a wonderful and perfect guide. We sampled bifana, cod croquettes, super bock, caldo verde, a selection of pastries with espresso, ginja in a chocolate cup, a spectacular selection of cheese, cured meats, olives, bread, sardines with vinho verde, and finally another pastry with port to finish. Maria also took the time to stop along the way and teach us some history, and also give us recommendations along the way (for Lisbon as well!). An added bonus was that we went to both restaurants and food shops, meaning we could stock up on gifts in shops locals favour. Highly recommend, thanks Maria!!
