Assisi Private Escape: Sacred Beauty Day Trip from Rome

Our day trip to Assisi was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We enjoyed the drive through the beautiful countryside in Umbria. Assisi was more amazing than we could have imagined, a stunning city on a hill with so much religious significance. Our driver, Ricardo, was excellent. He first drove us to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels because it was a few miles outside of Assisi. Ricardo then dropped us off in the middle of town and gave us very good directions on how to access the other three basilicas and where and what time to meet him for our return to Rome. We had plenty of time to visit the three basilicas, eat lunch, shop and take in spectacular views. Ricardo even kept in touch with us to make sure things were going well. On the return trip, Ricardo stopped at a perfect spot for photos. It was a perfect day!

Matteo was helpful, knowledgeable and organized our day to do everything we needed. He even suggested an awesome local restaurant for lunch and set up a dinner reservation too.

Driver was terrific and very accommodating. We drove to Assisi. Driver helped us customize our day and was flexible to meet our desires.

We were picked up right on time at our hotel for a day trip to Assisi. Our driver had no problem pulling off the road for a bathroom break. He was very knowledgeable about Assisi and gave us advice on how to get the most out of our day.

Alex Paolini is a specialist in corralling old ladies. From moment I met him, with a gift of pastries in his hand and a footstool to help access into his van, I knew I was in safe hands. Everything was taken care of, morning coffee in a garden, traditional Roman pizza for lunch, even hauling me up and down steps. He is the friend in Rome I have always wanted to meet.

Assisi is beautiful, the churches are awe inspiring. It was wonderful to get out of Rome and away from the rest of the tourists to have a peaceful pilgrimage to these very venerable sites. The weather was chilly, but it was a beautiful day. Our driver Fabio was great to chat with and provided us information about all the locations we visited. Such a beautiful time, we would love to do it again some day.
