Unforgettable Sarajevo: Roses of War & Resilience Tour

Mak was an amazing guide. Very passionate about the tour and made all of us understood everything being said.

My husband and I took the Roses of Sarajevo tour with Mak today - and it was a truly eye-opening experience. He took us to many places all over Sarajevo that were and still are affected by the war, and interspersed that with many very personal anecdotes, bringing the war and its aftermath into clear focus. The Tunnel of Salvation is a definite must see even if you don't take this tour, but for sure it's a most complete experience if you have a guide like Mak!

This tour was amazing, I'm so glad we did it! Our guide Mak was very informative, and as a survivor of the war, was able to share his own personal accounts and experiences of the time before, during, and after the conflict. It's also eye-opening to see and learn about the current state of the country. The highlights of the tour were the Tunnel of Salvation museum, the Olympic bobsled track, the yellow fortress, and of course, Mak!

This tour exceeded all our expectations. Mak is an incredible human being who with this tour made our trip very special. With his personal stories, great intellect, and perfect timing he made two persons with concentration difficulties stay hyper focused for four hours straight. Everything he told and showed us touched us deeply, we laughed, cried and were inspired during these hours! This tour is informative, emotional and so so important. We could not recommend it or Mak more!

Great tour with Mak. Lots of poignant stories and went all over the city. Highly recommend! A fantastic 4 hrs. He adjusted tour a bit based in our needs and went above and beyond.

What an amazing journey and insight into the one of the most recent wars in our history. I had the privilege of being guided by Mustafa, a recollection of his life as a survivor as a young man and what he and other brave Sarajevo residents endured during the war. This was the most informative and interesting tour that I have ever experienced. Thank you Mustafa for the amazing and informative trip- you are a great man and generous with your life experiences, it made my trip complete !

This was one of the very best, most personal, and informative tours that I have ever taken. Our guide, Mak, was absolutely outstanding. He guided us not only through physical space, but through his experience as a former refugee and survivor of the war, and I felt as if I had been invited into his home to hear his most personal reflections, all against the backdrop of the places where these catastrophic events occurred. First hand experience of the siege of Sarajevo from our guide Mustafa. Bosnia & Herzegovina ‘s history is very complex so when someone can share their own story it helps paint the whole picture.
