Sri Lanka: 5-Day Transformative Luxury Island Escape

Our prebooked tour started just after tropical storm Ditwah hit, but Tarith promptly reworked our itinerary to safer areas. It was sad to miss Ella, but we still went to beautiful places with our most thoughtful and considerate guide Nilanka - who fixed several of my senior-blonde issues. Although it is tempting to pack as many things in that you can - we really appreciated a slightly slower tour with some authentic experiences and a few more opportunities to stretch legs and relax. All hotels were clean, comfortable with airconditioning and the standard, large 'american breakfast'. Nilanka stopped often to show my engineer-husband odd things like landmasters, the fundamental height above sea-level benchmark, and crocodiles. The safari was full of wildlife (ladies - wear good support), and I enjoyed the turtle hatchery and the Madu river safari far more than I expected.

I had a great 5 day tour with Drivers In Sri Lanka, Mahesh was my tour guide and driver and really made me feel welcome to Sri Lanka. Mahesh went out of his way to make the experience an unforgettable one, he taught me so much about the history and traditions of Sri Lanka, he also took me to see other places that was not on the tour. Everything was well organised from the beginning, and the office helped us adjust the trip to our needs. We booked a 5-night tour, and our guide, Himal, picked us up in Colombo. Some hotels were simple but totally fine for this kind of tour, and the experience was absolutely worth the money. Our trip to Sri Lanka far exceeded my expectations! Before arriving, we had some prejudices, but the experience was so wonderful that we truly fell in love with the country it really is a paradise. For five days, Nilanka was our driver, and I can’t recommend him enough. He is the ultimate professional: polite, punctual, and genuinely kind. We had our wonderful driver, Dinesh, for a 7 day 6 night tour and the whole trip was fantastic. Dinesh was punctual, professional and went over and above to include what we wanted to do. He gave us good recommendations on where to eat and never rushed us. The communication with the company was prompt. Any time leading up to the trip and during the trip was replied to very quickly.
