Damajagua Waterfalls: Your Ultimate Cruise Thrill Awaits!

So freaking cool! Lots of fun hiking, sliding down slides, and jumping off platforms, I loved this experience so much! Highly recommend! Also the guides were so knowledgeable and friendly!

Alex was our tour guide, Jamal was our driver. It was a great tour. Just my bf and I ended up in the van! I was surprised no one else booked this on our cruise. Friendly and funny and helpful. Alex took videos and pictures for us. I absolutely recommend for anyone visiting Amber Cove. Make sure you go first thing in the morning!

The tour guides are amazing! Very friendly and accommodating to any needs you may have. The hike is a a variety of flat areas, stairs (lots) and inclines. You don’t have to be physically fit but definitely be prepared to sweat and be winded. I wore shoes which were ok but I’d suggest a good pair with a hard sole. There were lots of rocks on the trails and in the waterfalls. I highly recommend this excursion and company!

This was an amazing excursion! The guys who took us on the hike and down the falls were outstanding. The drivers of the shuttle were amazing as well. Our things were safe in the shuttle as the driver stayed with our stuff. The tour guides went above and beyond. Will be doing this again without a doubt.

My fiance, daughter, and I chose this experience and could not be happier about it! We paid $20 less a person than Carnival offered, the transportation was quick, and we even got local bananas and rum punch! This was also something Carnival did not offer for the exact same experience. We cannot speak highly enough of our guide, Winston, and how much we enjoyed his hospitality.

They are very nice and take really good care of you. Their energy gives the experience so much life and enjoyment. Winston our tour guide was absolutely the best

We chose this excursion company based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! Xander was more than just an excellent guide - he gives a great overview of the local culture. Oliver our driver navigated the roads to get us there in record time. This is a well organized team that makes you feel secure in such a crowded environment. It has been a highlight of our cruise!

Our second port day was Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. I chose to do an adventurous excursion with my family and after reading through lots of options, my choice was the Original Damajagua Waterfalls Adventure Amber Cove & Taino Bay. And, this excursion did not disappoint!! I followed the directions to the “T” and was able to find the company right outside of the port gates. However, I will say you do have to walk a little ways to find them. Walk past the parking area which I think are taxis and they are actually in a van parked on the side of road. There will be signs that different companies are holding up to locate others so just know the title of the company……Puerto Plato Adventures. Now on to JORDAN. What an Amazing young man and just so knowledgeable about the island!! He was with us the entire time and we never felt unsafe. On the ride there, he explained what we would be doing on the excursion and explained so much about the local living style. He was very personable on the excursion talking with all four of the family members. Jordan as the jump coach definitely made the experience so special. He even offered each time to assist with helping across the streams and rocks as well as the jumps. I am old enough to be his mom but he taught me so much as a young adult about mangos, sweet potatoes, mahogany trees, poison ivy, and even aloe on the island. I will forever be grateful for this awesome experience and for Jordan. God Bless You, Jordan!!

Couldn’t have been much better. Directions were very good to the meeting point. Winston was our guide and “Jump Coach”. Winston made us feel very secure and cared for during the entire excursion. Comfortable bus ride to the site. The hike is seriously uphill and about 45 minutes. My wife and I are healthy and in our late 60’s. It was not easy but VERY doable. A couple of younger “heavier” guests were struggling but made it to the top. The slides and final jump certainly got the adrenaline going but were fun and refreshing. The water was a welcome cool off after the hike. One regret: NO PICTURES I didnt come prepared with protective wet case for our phone or purchase the photo package. If i were doing it again, I would buy the photo package. 🤷🏻‍♂️ All in all, I highly recommend this visit. Winston is fabulous!
