We had a blast and learned a semester’s worth of college level history/political science. Lucia is actually college educated on what she is talking about. She has obviously retained a great deal more than I ever did. The pace of ride and information was very comfortable. What a beautiful city to see by bike. We have done quite a few bike tours, and this one definitely stood out for it’s easily digestible content that provided so much perspective on the communist past, the Ceauscescu years, and the Roman/Ottoman influences that persist even today. We had walked around the day before, but would have missed so much had we not rode with Lucia. Great bikes, too! Thank-you for water, chocolates, and personal history!

This is an excellent tour to see around Bucharest. Lucia is great as a guide. She has vast knowledge of Bucharest and helps with numerous suggestions regarding museums, food, etc.

We had a great time with our tour guide Dan. He was very informative and gave us lots of information on the history of Romania and the sites around Bucharest. He’s very knowledgeable and personable.

"Ed was a fantastic guide—friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. The route and pace were excellent, taking us through the most interesting parts of Bucharest. Me and my 2 teens absolutely loved the whole experience. Highly recommended!

Outstanding introduction to Bucharest. Ed was a terrific guide. Great storyteller. Would highly recommend this tour. Bikes are good. Interesting stops. Lots of opportunities to get great photos. No need for an ebike. Only one short hill. Very manageable.

My wife and I always take a bike tour of any city if possible when we arrive and this tour of Bucharest rates amongst the best. Lucia, our guide, knew so much about her home town and had enthusiasm and energy to burn. She gave us a very warm greeting and clear explanations on the bikes and what we could expect. The bikes were very comfortable and easy to ride through the sometimes narrow and cobbled streets. Lucia’s thorough knowledge of the history of Bucharest was evident and she covered all aspects up to the present day. We would happily recommend this tour and especially Lucia if you are looking to be shown some great sights and learn about this beautiful city and its people.

Dan did a great job telling us about Romania's part in the history of the region and life in Romania while we pedaled through Bucharest, stopping at several important sites and churches. There was a lot of construction, we biked often in areas with pedestrians, and the city is not ideal for biking, but Dan did a nice job with us.

This is my first time in Romania and whenever I visit a new country, my favorite thing is to take a guided tour. My friends and I came from New York for a bachelor party and the Half a Day Bike tour with Lucia was the first experience we had. If they were visiting Bucharest, I would tell any family, friend or colleague that they should start with this tour. The bikes are all in good condition, the time means you can plan this activity plus something else, and you are met with Bucharest itself, including everything that makes it beautiful, mysterious, and fascinating. The price is well worth the experience and for us 5 guys, we had a great time learning about the city and it's people. Besides for Bucharest itself, Lucia was really the star of our show. From the start, Lucia was friendly, full of information, and diligent about our care. Everywhere Lucia led us was safe, interesting and provided very useful information. All of Lucia's stories and facts came along with jokes and travel tips. She was absolutely tireless in answering all of our questions and she made sure each guest was comfortable speaking with her. She made it very easy to address short factual questions but I also enjoyed going into deeper topics with her on Romanian culture, religious customs, history and language. You will be hit by the gravity of history when you take this tour, but just like Lucia will explain to you, Romanians handle this with many jokes so make sure you pay attention. Also, make sure you ask her any about any stories or rumors you have heard about Romania. I asked her about I story I heard about a trick Gheorghiu-Dej played on Khrushchev and she told me this wasn't true! Again, this was a perfect introductory city tour experience with an absolutely wonderful guide. Ask for Lucia!
