The historic center of Lucca is very welcoming and walkable. If you want to see the famous city wall surrounding the old city center, rent a bike for 5 euros and spend an hour riding all the way around the level and beautiful walkway. The walking tour guide I had was very informative and pleasant, so it helped me appreciate Lucca better than if I just walked around on my own.

Lovely lady who showed us round Lucca. The only point was the meeting point it should say the Tourist Info centre rather than on a corner in the park.

Our guide was very informative and pleasant. She shared a good deal of information about the town. Never knew its history with music or that they are known for the mushrooms.
