Breathtaking Sicily: Cefalù & Castelbuono Exclusive Day

Had a lovely week in Valderici. Historic hotel with lots of features located in a quiet fishing village. Very good organised excursions in luxury coach with good driver. Our guide/representative, Allesandro, was so interesting, caring and professional and very knowledgeable. Top class chap. Food at the hotel excellent with an amazing anti-pasta selection. Beautiful grounds with historic artefacts. Infinity pool. You need to check though whether you are in the main hotel or the apartments. Booked through Newmarket

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Cristian is most professional. He volunteered to walk with us and he always kept check to see if any of us was left behind. Most impressed with his responsible attitude and the way he introduced the places, subtle but informative. Much more value for money than the excursions offered by the cruise company.

Umberto came back for second day of touring northern Sicily from Palermo. Today we headed east. Again, great stories, history, and perspective. Drove the elevated highways and narrow ancient streets with equal skill. He was flexible and friendly throughout. Plus his culinary recommendations were spot on again! Couldn't be happier he stayed with us for this part of our adventure.

We had a great tour with Humberto. He was a great driver. Explain many things about Sicily our trip to Cepalu. He took us on a tour of the town and then gave us free time to explore on our own. Would definitely recommend.

An excellent day tour with Umberto the operator from Palermo to Castelbuono and Cefalu. Picked from our hotel, Umberto was an excellent host who explained so much to us about living in Palermo and Italy. He then took us on a walking tour through Castelbuono which was a highlight for us. Spending a few free hours in Cefalu, we found lunch and drove the coast road home to our hotel.

Our driver was great. Very informative,on time, nice clean vehicle and good English. Highly recommend Christian for tours of Castelbuono and Cefalu.

Really enjoyed Castelbuono. The guide had a lot of insight. He also had a great restaurant recommendation in Cefalu, but really just dropped us off without much guidance or insight. On the downside, there was a terrible odor in the van when he first picked us up. Noticeable to both my wife and I. He did something to correct it in Cefalu as it was not noticeable on the return.

I booked this excursion mainly to visit Castelbuono, the home town of my Grandfather. Cristian greeted us at our hotel and we sat comfortably in his van for the next hour and a half as he narrated our trek into the Madonie Mountains. The visit exceeded our expectations as we stepped back in time and visited attractions of note including the castle, and its chapel. Cristian's knowledge of the area and his familiarity with the townsfolk had us at ease as we learned while we saw. A walk through the streets of town and shopping at Fiasconaro completed our time in Castelbuono. On the return trip, Cristian made a stop in Cefalu and allowed us a couple hours to meander through the many streets of shops and visit the Duomo. Lunch by the seaside completed an amazing day. We highly recommend this excursion.

We had a great day with Umberto. He arrived early in his very comfortable and clean van. We spoke of many things during the day - he shared information about Palermo and all the other areas we drive through and visited. Castelbuono was beautiful and fascinating - we had some food tasting and supported the local economy - the manna paste is soooo good. We visited the castle and learnt all about its history - so interesting. The local market was on while we were there so Umberto explained some of the foods that were unfamiliar to us - which we were grateful for. We then drove to Cefalu - which being August was crazy busy - but had a good time wandering the streets of the old town - and supporting the local economy some more 😀 Overall a wonderful and interesting day made all the better because of Umberto’s kind and friendly nature. We highly recommend this trip to see outside the city of Palermo.
