Unforgettable Vieux Lyon Food Tour: Culinary Gems & Lunch

This was an amazing tour! Nathalie was our tour guide and she was exceptional. So knowledgeable about the city of Lyon and all of the marvelous food in this charming city! We sampled some amazing local foods and learned so much about the area. We were expecting just a food tour but we got both a food and history tour - it was perfect! All of the shop and restaurant owners were very welcoming and you can tell Nathalie has a great relationship with them all. She also offered suggestions on how to spend our remaining time in Lyon. 10 out of 10!

Nathalie not only took us on a tasting tour of Old Town, she also told us a lot of the history of Lyon, talked about the art and architecture and explained some of the customs. The tour lasted nearly four hours and gave us opportunities to sit and talk with the owner of a cheese shops, as well as makers of chocolate, pastries and charcuterie. It included a stop for a light lunch at a local, historical bouchon. Great introduction to Lyon.

Nathalie's tour is wonderful: she is a very congenial and knowledgeable guide. She selected representative restaurants and shops to let us experience Lyonnaise food specialties and to learn about Lyon's important silk manufacturing history. Nathalie's tour is really well-conceived and it's an excellent orientation. I highly recommend visitors to Lyon take this tour in their first couple of days in the city.
