Xi'an Masterpiece: Warriors, Wall & Local Gems Day Tour

I booked this tour primarily to see the Terracotta Warriors because I realised that travel from the City Centre was not straightforward as the site is 25 miles away , and also because the large crowds might be bewildering when buying tickets and knowing where to go. An additional bonus was that not only only did we visit the Terracotta Warriors in the morning, but we also visited other intriguing and historic sites in the City Centre in the afternoon. I was the first to be picked up by the mini-bus from my hotel ( early start ! ) and was greeted by Carol Chen our English-speaking tour guide - she was very friendly and chatty, and helped me practise my ( limited ) Mandarin. She gave us lots of tips, including about the elbow-shoving to view the warriors! Everything was extremely well-organised, and although it was a long but enjoyable day, it was actually my one day off because all I had to do was to " follow the flag " ! Even the meal was organised as well as souvenir shopping. Drop-off was not very far at all from the hotel. If I had organised this trip myself, I doubt if I would have saved much - if any - money, but I was freed from the burden of navigating confusing websites and bus networks - there is no direct regular public transport to the site, so travelling by mini-bus was ideal and our driver drove safely and sensibly. So, to summarise , TravelChinaGuide is not only an ideal company to use for tours such as this, but also can book rail tickets and handle all other aspects of getting around a vast country which can be very confusing for non-Chinese speakers. It was a long day, too, for Carol, but she handled it all brilliantly and I have no hesitation in recommending her services.

- overall it was a good tour experience, and I was able to seamlessly see different historical sites - driver and tour guide were very considerate - tour guide (Roger) was friendly and had good conversational English, but I would have appreciated more in-depth information for the price point - no shopping stops, all admission fees were paid, did not request tips - the van was clean, comfortable and had capacity for ~15 people, 7 people attended my tour which was a good size - direct hotel pick-ups and drop-offs

Had a great day with Jacky, learned so much about the city, culture and history of Xian. Jacky is a very knowledgeable and friendly tour lead and made our experience fantastic.

Lily was a fantastic tour guide. She took us through each of the Terracotta Warrior pits and kept our little group together when big massive tour groups started coming through. She also accommodated my older parents who walked a little slower, which we appreciated

I just have such a great experience in this day tour. Carol was our guide and she knows a lot about each spot we visited. It's a perfect tour for those who doesn't have much time in Xi'an but want to visit as much as possible.

Good tour, pick was on time, Carol was very knowledgeable and spoke good english and provided lot of local information also. Highly recommend for non chinese speaking tourists.

This tour is really beautiful. Our guide, Carol, is very nice and helpful. She explained a lot about the history of the warriors. She even explained the Chinese culture and differences of Xi’an with the other regions.

Carol is a fantastic guide for the English tour. I learnt a lot from her and appreciated how she really cared for the group during this trip! Highly recommend!

Had a fabulous day on this tour. Super easy for solo travelers, guide Lily picked me up at my hotel and we then stopped at two additional hotels. Group size about 10-12 people. Lily had a mic in the vehicle and her English was great. She was an excellent tour guide, offering lots of great information about Xi'an and Chinese history. We stopped first at the Terracotta Warriors, which was incredible. Prepare for massive crowds, although on our day it was very manageable and we could get next to the rail. Stopped at multiple pits, then went to a great lunch. After lunch we saw the Goose Pagoda, absolutely great gardens and peaceful. We then went to the city wall for great views. Finally we ended at the Muslim Quarter. This was a long day but we'll worth it and I had a wonderful time with Lily and the group! Would do again.

This was an incredible and all inclusive tour. Really got to see a lot! Tracy was an incredible guide who went above and beyond to teach us about the culture and history of China.
